Going to be a lot more overlapping galaxies than we’re used to! @ngc3314.bsky.social 🔭😀
Picture of a large group of Australian radio astronomers on the stage at the SKAO 2025 meeting.
Incredible showing from Australians past, present and future, at #SKAO2025 in Görlitz.
All very excited about getting the first data from the SKAO telescopes!
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!

@astroarxiv.bsky.social is it possible to make the arxiv links to each paper clickable, so that we could be redirected to the abstract?
In response to the ever-increasing number of submissions to the Open Journal of Astrophysics, I'd like to invite more astrophysicistsonto our Editorial Board. We're looking for volunteers with expertise in any area of astrophysics!

Did someone just see there were two and figure we only need one? Like you only need one leg - the other is clearly spare?

Y'ALL. Check out this *stunning* new 3D visualization of the breathtaking Carina Nebula 🤩 I will be forever grateful that I'm the lucky human who got to reveal this image to the world in 2022. It made me cry when I first saw it. The universe is beautiful; take it in❤️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFaZ...
Listening to some awesome case studies today at the ATCA conference and remembering when I visited this important infrastructure that we have here in Australia - the role it plays in discovery and complimentary science, as well as Aussie radio heritage history.
A southern hemisphere gem!

A shout out to the incredible women scientists in our radio transients group.
I love this photo, with multiple generations of Sydney #RadioAstronomy women.

Very cool this morning to see @thenrao.bsky.social's recorded live stream of the ngVLA prototype dish being lifted onto its pedestal! www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5cK... Bonus content: at ~1h31m-1h37m, you can see a transporter slowly go by carrying a VLA dish to its D-configuration position. 😃 🧪📡🔭
I'm looking for a two year postdoc to work with me at Macquarie University building an Astrostatistics Research Group!
We're interested in diverse applicants with previous experience in applying stats/AI/ML in astronomy, especially in relation to exoplanets/stellar astrophysics/instrumentation.

We need to stop calling ALL statistical models "AI". The comments under this article alone show how debased the term has become for general public. It's worse than useless. #mlsky
