MORE THAN SHE BARGAINED FOR is out tomorrow! 🎉🎉🎉
Posts by Shelley Marsh
I went to see #projecthailmary yesterday and loved it. They did a great job adapting it into movie form. I read it on audiobook, and I had high expectations. Those of you who’ve seen the movie tell me—what did you think?
Rebeccah Makkai's Substack made me laugh so loud, I scared the dog: "You decide to be a morning writer & you last 6 days...Then you try some kind of app where, whenever you work, you get points that keep an animated hedgehog alive. Then you forget the hedgehog." #adhd #writer
The Estate Sale Mysteries are just getting started.

Emma and Laura thought running estate sales would be fun.
They didn't expect to find murder.
In this guest post, I shared a bit about why estate sales inspired me while writing Dying to Live Here.
Many thanks to Salty Inspirations for sharing my guest post!

Thanks!
My book is officially out in the world now!
Still wrapping my head around that.
It's National Escape Day! Books are the best escape, don't you think?

Today is National LEGO Day. Even though I'm all grown up, I still love constructing LEGO sets.

Cover reveal ✨
Dying to Live Here, the first book in my Estate Sale Mysteries series.
Florida setting, quirky neighbors, secrets, and humor. Out Feb 10.
Laura swiped the photo off the screen, dismissing both it and my idea.
I grabbed her phone. “You know what I think?”
“Billionaires are evil?”
“Well, besides that.”
“What?”
"I think they're in on this together."

A sample of my corrections to the galley proof of Dying to Live Here:
"What do you do if you hook a shark?"
"Cut the line and throw 'em back"—>"Cut the line!"*
*Author error: Don't throw sharks.

What had the thief been looking for?
Nobody would try to lift a collection of Precious Moments figurines to sell on the black market.
_Is there_ a Precious Moments black market?
My insane speculation was cut short by the sound of another door opening down the hallway.
#WIP
Nordic Literature Week (originally the Nordic Library Week) has been a cultural project for over 20 years, aimed at spreading the joy of reading, literature, and the Nordic tradition of storytelling, across borders. It's become a yearly event with approximately 160,000 young and adult participants.
The context is a scuba tank pressure gauge.
Scrivener's suggestions: gouge, gauze, gage, gauger, gaugeable. I don't like red lines, so I changed the setting to make it very faint.
Scrivener doesn't know how to spell "gauge." That's one of those words (like "sleuth") that I often have to type twice before I get it right, but Scrivener puts a red line under it, regardless. Is it just me, or is Scrivener's spell-check function useless? I have to export to a Word doc to check it.
