We've just released a major quality of life update for our classic freeware shooter GUN GODZ on both Windows & Mac with bug fixes, gamepad support, rebindable controls, and a proper settings menu!

During the 2020 lockdown, I made a tiny MSX-style boss rush game called #SolarGladiators. I hadn't looked at it since then, but I decided to take another look, and it's one of those games that could be so much better with just a few tweaks.

Basically: better flow and risk-reward systems

Total, y Ghouls and Goblins era extra dramático.

All of them remind me of Millennium 2.2 for the Commodore Amiga 500. What a nice game.

55 tracks is more than some discographies :]

Thanks for the update!

It’s not very often that an album that’s been in my music library for a while gets an update that adds new tracks.

Thank you!

Thank you!

I have fond memories of that time. The indie scene was a handful of people experimenting and sharing their findings and games.

It's still like that on sites like itch and in some cozy corners of the internet, thankfully. I guess makers always find nice places to work and share.

Thank you!

Time is broken lately.
But also, a lot has happened since then.

Awww, glad to hear that someone actually makes the DIY edition ❤️‍🩹

I sometimes feel like nobody cares, but I like to make them anyway.

Thank you!

It's crazy how adult time speeds up. But also, a good bunch of things have happened since then. So it's not wasted time at all.

I really enjoyed making and sending them back then.

A few years ago, I wanted to pick up where I left off (The Curse of Issyos, Mutants, Toxic Tomb...), but then the pandemic hit, and production and shipping costs went through the roof.

#8BitKiller turns 18 today!

After years of abandoned projects, this was my first full-length game to be published.

At the time (2008), I didn’t know many people who were interested in classic-style games. Let alone the idea of mixing eras. I connected with the indie and retro scene after release.

Masanori Miyamoto, who used to compose music for many Compile games (Guardic, Aleste, Zanac, etc.), has uploaded something very interesting to YouTube -- the original source sketches he composed on a synthesizer, before they were converted to chiptunes! Check it out!

I’ve never found handheld consoles particularly comfortable. Especially for arcade games. But I guess that’s a matter of taste. And the VS-R certainly ticks that box.

That said, I’m a bit surprised by the design. I thought the first version was particularly attractive. So why the change?
