Yup! Obviously no one outside of surgery thinks that but there are still some egos within surgery. Honestly, I kinda think they’re jealous of our work-life balance!

Same thing I tell residents!

I was told this all through my surgical training and now I have an extremely rewarding surgical career and all the “proper” surgeons regret their life choices when they’re doing laparotomies in the middle of the night at the age of 60 🤷🏻‍♀️
