#quiltsky #longarm #fmq Greetings! I’ve been taking Natalia Bonner’s Strip by Strip class, here is a small section of my tinkering. I have a long way to go but I’m markedly improved over where I was a year ago so I’ll take it. I go weeks sometimes between longarm sessions, unfortunately.
I put my Barn Star quilt on the frame today & decided I might as well find out how Toby is in the room while quilting… He did a little curious climbing but settled into the cat bed under the frame. It feels good to be on the long arm. (My Bernina is in for a tune up at 2.5x10^6 stitches) #quiltsky

Okay, I’m on the mend. Not ready to launch back into… whatever I usually do, but I did manage to fussy cut these critters for the cats’ pyjamas quilt. Love working with cotton flannelette - so soft mmmmm. #quiltsky
Since I finished my Harvey Fierstein quilt, I allowed myself to make 1 test block for my new "The Shape Of Japan" quilt by Kumiko Fujita.
This is a Daruma doll, which stands for perceverance and good luck, which I think is fitting. The block is hand sewn.

The ecru is lovely. 😊
The one on the right was soaked an extra 10 minutes, but not any darker.
I don’t like how the blue turned out, but the bright pink turned into a lovely rose. 🩷
