Not really hate, it's just that I've worked in a few different frameworks that used XAML before, and even though the general gist is the same, it's the small differences that get you. See WPF and Avalonia. Both good systems. Too similar so when you need something for Avalonia, you'll end up with WPF

Time to build a desktop app - it's been a while. Figured I'd have a look at something new, and oh my lord is the Uno platforms UI generator insanely good! I hate XAML with a passion, and this thing means I barely need to touch the stuff. <3

Did you know that if you want to deserialize something that maps to an interface but ALSO a concrete type, you need to register that concrete type in the resolver? I knew. I also forgot. 🤦

Just wrapped up the Secret Decoder Challenge from #dotnetconf — and wow, that was a ride. Finding the clues was fun, but rearranging those final letters? That part took me forever 😅

Tons of meetings, tons of gadgets, and even some serious content, not to mention walking almost 40km over 3 days, it's time to say bye to #IFA for this time. I'll be sleeping for the next 3 days or so.

Repeat after me: Hiding your Knowledgebase or FAQ behind a LLM is not adding AI to your service. It's just destroying your UX. Please stop.

1/3 into the month, even with spending 2 full days experimenting with agent based coding using the #Claude 4 model, I've used 4% of my #Github #Copilot tokens. I'm not sure how people manage to run out. :S

In my case, most of the things I build end up in a database or network call of some kind, which requires(or prefers) to be async. I'm already passing the cancellationtoken down, or at least I have it in the method signature, so I feel that the Async suffix is superfluous.

Do you use the Async suffix on your methods? In my opinion, if everything is async, then everything is async and it's not needed. The only exception is if there's both an async and sync version available.
