I have been in fandom spaces since around 2012, and the first rule I was taught was to be kind to everyone. That is what I want all of you to take from this. Be kind to everyone, and if you can't be kind to someone, just block them and move on.

Racism is wrong, and there is no place for it in fandom, but there is also no place for hateful attacks while claiming you have the moral high ground.
I am so tired. There is already enough going on in the world to also have my escape be taken away from me.
Also, not to be that person, but most of the people throwing wood into this fire are white, and that gives off such white savior complex in the worst way possible. If you actually cared, you would ask poc voices for their opinion rather than go on a rampage pretending you are doing it to support POC
Fandom is supposed to be an escape from the world, but lately, it has been feeling like a chore to me. I haven't been able to write due to burnout, and I am just so tired of having to keep up with people pointing and shouting because "so and so said you did this or you are still talking to x."
You cannot. I repeat. CANNOT. control police other people's actions, you can just control how you respond and how you act following them. Waving your pointed finger at them and demanding apologies does nothing in the long run.
You are talking about something that happened years ago. It is okay to inform new people in the fandom about what happened, but it is NOT OKAY to bully someone if you A) don't know the whole story, B) have no context of their situation, and/or C) it is not connected to you at all.
There are some big problems in the world right now, and this seems like a petty distraction.
I am living in constant anxiety that one of my family members will get picked up off the street due to the way they look, and/or someone's power trip to have to worry about how y'all want to "take action."
What I do know is that sending people DMs, messages or sending people to do so is unnecessary. If you don't like someone nor agree with what they did/are doing, just block them and move on. Make your life easier.
The best way to describe what is going on right now is a witch hunt, but the people you need to watch out for in those moments are the ones pointing fingers.
I didn't want to comment on anything going on because I am not active enough due to personal reasons lately to get "the whole picture."
I am going to go inactive in this account. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I am just... exhausted.
I am not here to argue or add to the discourse going on. All I have to say is that a lot of people are making mountains out of molehills without listening to POC voices.
