It‘s such a pleasure every time to join @efca-eu.bsky.social spring Advisory Board meeting in our beloved Vigo. A crucial platform for us to exchange on control and enforcement and one of the topics where collaboration with stakeholders is indespensable. Our joint-AC advice on control coming 🔜 🌊

This week, NSAC took part in Inter-AC meeting between ACs and @ec.europa.eu to discuss ongoing policy dossiers, such as the 2040 vision for fisheries and CFP evaluation. We advocated for science-based solutions, integrated multilateral governance, climate integration and social aspects. 🌊

Last night, the Market AC, Aquaculture AC and the NSAC organised the European Parliament event on the role of Advisory Councils under the CFP. ACs are the cornerstone of inclusive and balanced approach to sustainable management and marketing of fisheries and aquaculture resources. 👥🐟🌿

Last week we were hosted by @icesmarine.bsky.social for Demersal WG and meetings between ICES and AC stakeholders, MIAC and MIACO. Marked by exceptional atmosphere and lively debates on stock assessments and management advice, this is a new era for science-policy-society integration. 👥🐟

The European Parliament and EU Advisory Councils have at least one thing in common: they both aim to bring the Union’s policies closer to stakeholders.
