Vote Yes-No on 8th March For Family and Care

Vote Yes-No on 8th March For Family and Care

At 'Rabharta: The Party for Workers and Carers', after extensive debate which placed the voices of carers and people with disabilities at its centre, we've decided to support a Yes-No vote for the upcoming 2 referenda this Friday 8th March!

Our party is explicitly calling for a second referendum to remove the sexist language, enshrine a full right to care and maintain the right for carers to not be forced to work when they would rather provide care.

Afternoon all, it's a big update for the first post of 2024, which you can read here:

First I'll be looking at Sinn Féin's worst poll in ages and the narrative that it's because of immigration - and why the data says that explanation is inadequate (1/)

It can't, because our democracy isn't strong enough to tackle the vested interests who are happy to profit while the world burns. These vested interests control our economy and so long as that's the case no real climate action can take place.

The narrative is dangerous because it suggests we're doing enough on climate action; that our current system can solve the problem.

But it won't.

"The latest projections (June 2023) indicate that currently implemented measures (With Existing Measures) will achieve a reduction of 10% on 2005 levels by 2030, significantly short of the 42% reduction target."

This is such a dangerous narrative. The Green's unambitious climate action plan was supposed to reduce emissions by 42% by 2030; which isn't enough to prevent climate breakdown.

Now they're patting themselves on the back for achieving a 1% reduction.
