Image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project.

Newly painted is an even wider ranging spread of red bottom ligthing on the upper half, and the implied wall of flames around the knee-height of abaddon, painted in by the highest-value yellows at those heights.

Three-part image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project.

At the top is one 2:1 ratio wide photo centering on the knee-height level of abaddons body, where the center of the implied flames is placed, which causes the warm osl on the rest of the piece.

The bottom half of this collage image is vertically split in the middle and shows different angles of the kneepad, which is the detail that is most refined in the area shown above.

Side-by-side comparison of the close-up image of the current WIP state of the Abaddon project. On the left is my miniature interpretation of the art on the right, the original and iconic warhammer artwork "eye of terror" by Karl Kopinski.

After last nights painting stream, which was surprisingly productive on my part, we have set up the center of the flame wall, which is the center and source of all the warm OSL on this piece.

I'm starting to actually feel good about this :)

The right side image of the digital reference also has a quick silhouette sketch of the protagonist, which helped me map out where and how to position the freehanded galaxy.

The newly painted galaxy background is done in pink, purple and blue.

After all the great practice in freehanding galaxy stuff I got from the Apollon chariot project, I was well prepared for the Eye of Terror backdrop!

Usually backdrops only set the scene but on this piece it's very important for the piece in many ways!

4 square panels all showing the same sculpted and painted sphere that is being crushed by a power claw.

the model wearing said claw is abaddon and all primed black.

the planet is painted with green continents and blue oceans under white clouds that swirl and flow across the surface. near the claws that are supposed to tear into the planets surface are rifts painted in yellow, orange and red.

square image that is divided in one 2:1 frame in the upper half and two smaller square frames in the bottom half.

they're all showing the same group of chaos converted legio imperialis space marines. they are all primed black just like the plinth and half visible miniature of Abaddon the despoiler.

vertically split side-by-side comparison image showing the current WIP state of my miniature painting interpretation (left side) and the original and iconic warhammer artwork "eye of terror" by Karl Kopinski (right side).

They both depict Abaddon the despoiler crushing the planet Cadia in his power claw with his Black legion marching below him in smaller scale and the eye of terror, a purple, blue and pink warp rift in the galaxy behind him. On my WIP depiction the latter has yet to be painted on the backdrop and everything but the planet is merely primed black at this time as well.

Just like Abaddon to ponder the orb so hard he crushed it... tisk tisk tisk...

Used weekday evenings to finish converting the epic scale marines and then painted Cadia on stream :)

The sunderers of fortresses, a Siegebreaker consul of the IVth Legion observing the work of the artillery under his command.

This is one of my favourite Heresy sculpts and I had a lot of fun with all the details! The map and glowing phosphex were really fun!

The Lord of Virulence guiding ordnance on the battlefield.

I wasn't a big fan of this model originally, but the sea creature style cloak sold me pretty quickly, so I gave it a catchy colour :)

Likely the last Death Guard for a bit, prepare for Iron.

A new read I picked up last night at the LGS!

Still feels unreal that after so many years and books the mainline Heresy era is about to close...

Thank you to all the Black Library authors for your phenomenal work over the years... Decades, even.

20 poxwalkers in various steps of progress

20 poxwalkers in various steps of progress

Tried my hand at speedpainting these merry fellows today, 20 poxwalkers at a decent process done in one afternoon.

Not much of a speedy painter normally so it was a really fun challenge! Might try with Tyranids at some point :)

Foul Blightspawn of Nurgle, calling him mostly done.

A lovely, if slightly challenging model to paint, with lots of little details and various surfaces mixing together.

There's 1-2 more Death Guard models I can finish before the Saturnine box will take over soon!

Good morning Bluesky โ˜€๏ธ

I did a little refurbishing of my office and took the opportunity to show you some older work from a little while ago!

First up, the cursed twins, Villitch the Curseling! No idea how I did that sword but it looks neat I think :D

These are a good portion of the models I've painted over the last few years! It's fun seeing them all in one place :)

Good morning!

As promised recently, here is the second XV88 Broadside, this time the previous iteration of the kit :)

I'm a big fan of the shoulder-mounted guns. Got a few more of these to paint, but first there's some fixes to be done on the Ethereal coming tomorrow!
