So many causes need attention, but all of them rely on one foundation: functioning ecosystems. Without a living planet, nothing else holds.
This GivingTuesday, support restoration grounded in ecological science and community action.

Curious about what the Becoming a Regenerative Farmer training is really like? Here’s what 2025 student Gail Buswell shared about her experience. If you’re thinking about applying for 2026, her testimonial says it all.
Partners of the More Trees Now project met in Oppido Lucano to harvest 1,000+ seedlings for the ERC Rocciaviva hub. Together, we’re adapting this volunteer-led method for Mediterranean climates to boost reforestation, biodiversity, and community action across Europe. #ErasmusMoreTreesNow

In the Algarve this November? Join the Month of Regeneration: hands-on agroforestry, water retention, post-fire restoration, and native tree planting across 8 locations. Learn restoration methods while working alongside local changemakers. Details: mudvalleyinstitute.org/get-involved...
UK farming has lost 60% of its insects in 20 years. Industrial agriculture is breaking our ecosystems.
But there's another way.
Join our Becoming a Regenerative Farmer training and learn to grow food that heals the land, builds community, & actually makes money.

Bonus: grazing herbivores reduce wildfire fuel loads while creating natural firebreaks (see GrazeLIFE study, Portugal). 2 animals, 1 regenerating system. This is the work across the ERC movement. Real land, real data, real impact.
The cascade: Selective grazing → wildflower diversity ↑. Dung introduction → beetle colonization → bat/bird activity ↑. Trampling → microhabitat creation. Fur/dung → seed dispersal. They've even self-optimized fencing routes. This is applied restoration ecology. 🔄
At ERC Embercombe (UK), two Dexter heifers are demonstrating keystone grazing ecology in real-time. Kit and Kat arrived back in July. Their impact? Already measurable. 🐄🌿
Proud to join IUCN - the world's largest environmental network. This milestone affirms our restoration work is part of a global movement uniting science, traditional wisdom, and ground action for lasting ecological change. #IUCN #EcosystemRestoration

This isn't theory. It's proven strategies from people who've lived through megafires and rebuilt. From understanding fire ecosystems to mid-fire action to long-term land management. For landowners, practitioners, and anyone ready to take meaningful climate action.
The Wildfire Resilience Training brings together 16+ experts: permaculture designers, soil scientists, pyro-geographers, wildfire mappers, and natural builders. The approach? Reduce risk. Respond to heal land + community. Regenerate ecosystems. 6 modules starting Feb 2026.
Meet Matthew Trumm. In 2018, the Camp Fire destroyed Paradise, CA. He responded by founding the world's first mobile disaster response camp. Then another fire hit his family's land. For 7 years, he's been learning what actually works for wildfire prevention + post-fire recovery.
Living in a fire-prone area? Managing land that's now wildfire-threatened? Here's what most people don't know: you CAN fireproof landscapes. But it requires re-engineering ecosystems, not just defensible space. We've gathered the experts who know how. 🧵
6,557 acres under restoration so far. Universities are monitoring long-term success. Community ownership is growing. The model works when you match the solution to the specific damage, not just plant fast and hope. What other damaged landscapes need this approach?
But it's more than trees. It's jobs. It's permaculture training for local farmers. It's showing that restoration can be both ecological AND economic success. The coal industry took farmland and skills. This is bringing both back.
The No. 4 Farm nursery sits on reclaimed mine land from the Wolf Creek #4 coal mine. They're growing 1M+ native trees using these Champion genetics. Each seed gets species-specific treatment: stratification, scarification, whatever it needs to thrive.
Renew Appalachia is putting this into practice. Community members identify and collect seeds from Champion trees across Eastern Kentucky. White oaks (pressured by bourbon barrel production), crab apples (critical bat habitat)—species that matter locally.
Here's why it matters: A tree seed from 100 miles away might struggle in compacted mine soil. But a seed from a local Champion white oak that's survived 80 years in similar conditions? That genetic adaptation is the difference between 30% and 70%+ survival rates.
