He went after the Apple Watch but back in 2010 when I first saw the iPad I declared that it combined the downsides of a smartphone with the downsides of a laptop and would never catch on.
16 years later I was clearly wrong about the latter but maintain I was 100% correct on the former.

My wife has one and gets use out of it. Her job is such that she can’t constantly pull out her phone but she can see her texts on her watch in case there’s something that actually merits a quick response. But that’s obviously situationally dependent and doesn’t scream “something everyone needs.”
A lot of people said for years that they would happily accept an economy that is worse for them personally if it meant people at the lower end were better off and that was a lie.
Ignoring the evil of this, if I was a billionaire with the ability to do whatever I wanted, I wouldn’t want to have to deal with 6000 employees reporting directly to me. Seems like a lot of work.
30 years ago today, Principal Skinner purchased fast food to disguise as his own cooking at an unforgettable luncheon with Superintendent Chalmers.
#TheSimpsons episode “22 Short Films About Springfield” first aired April 14, 1996.
Backing evangelicals into a corner by making them admit he didn’t recognize the iconography because he isn’t a Christian.
Ngl this Blackhawks anthem singer has quite a voice.

The ACA should be considered an improvement but not the final outcome needed.
Promote your accomplishments without lying. Saying “millions more people have healthcare” is a true outcome of the ACA and should be applauded. Saying that it’s universal when there are still about 10 million people with no coverage and many more whose insurance provides minimal coverage is a lie.
The ACA is significantly better than what came before it but you can’t say there aren’t still gaping flaws with the healthcare system. Saying we “won” doesn’t feel right.
Champion of the south again! #ACPT
Obviously Vance isn’t a good guy, but this and “shut up about Pikachu for a minute I’m being asked to be VP” were two things people clowned him for that I absolutely think I’d do the same in that situation.
I’m just going to say it: if you’re ordering a dozen donuts it gets exhausting picking them out and keeping track of the amount remaining. If I was ordering several dozen I would absolutely let most if not all of it be up to the workers.
That’d be such a bonkers twist I’d be amazed to see how they pull it off. Also I’ll give you 10 internet (fake) dollars for calling it.
“This is a Republican problem, not a democratic one. Which is why the democrats should treat this identically to how republicans do.”
Glad I was correct about this.
Tagging @jfruh.bsky.social because this seems like stupid comic minutiae he’d find mildly interesting/I probably wouldn’t think about if not for his blog.
The last Peanuts strip was 18,032 days after the first. 18,032 days after the first Garfield strip is November 1st, 2027.
We’re less than two years away from hitting the point where Garfield lasted longer than Peanuts and that just seems wrong.
There are ways you can write scenes to resolve multiple of these at once but I feel like that is a ton to have to take care of in just 45 minutes. And I’m sure there will still be patients and other stuff. I’m now excepting stuff that has been set up this entire time to just be left hanging.
10) Whittaker’s ID (just a weird thing to have happen in the second last episode if it isn’t going to matter in the finale)
11) A resolution to Robby/Langdon
5) Did Langdon relapse?
6) The ICE thing/Jivadi’s tiktok
7) What happens to Mohan?(knowing she’s gone means that can’t be the last we see of her)
8) What happens to Al Hashimi wrt both her medical issues and her stating in the hospital?
9) Santos taking the scalpel
Things that need to get resolved in the next episode
1) Robby’s suicidality
2) Langdon and Santos’ issues
3) Whittaker and Santos’ issues
4) Baby Jane Doe (I know it’s realistic for patients to not have a satisfying story payoff confusion but they’ve brought her up too much for her to go away)
I really have been enjoying watching The Pitt but I’m starting to worry it’s going to have the same issue Pluribus did where they spent so much time setting stuff up that they don’t have enough time to satisfyingly pay everything off.
I just click on the link to video and it starts playing video. No account creation. No ads. It’s beautiful.
I got a Myers jersey because I figured he was the safest bet longterm. That’s still the jersey I wear to games.
Benzos make you a better doctor.
A reality tv show picking jerks that will likely cause conflict???
I didn’t realize Ken Jennings was as tall as Bryce Young.
