somehow I always end up working at institutions during their sesquicentennial celebrations. (First the Noble & Greenough School, now @wellesley.edu.) www.wellesley.edu/news/kicking...

I just sent you a message via your website!
At Bark! Fest, we had a profound and moving conversation about pet loss and grief with authors @eb-bartels.bsky.social (Good Grief), Rev. Sarah Bowen (Sacred Sendoffs), and Karen Fine DVM (The Other Family Doctor). www.companionanimalpsychology.com/2025/05/lovi...
oh thank you so much for reading Good Grief! I hope it brought you some comfort.
Just finished reading her book, Good Grief: On Loving Pets, Here and Hereafter. A tender and welcome affirmation of the importance of our pet companions‐ and our grief when they are gone.
I can't believe it's real. a complete 180! so, anyway, thanks for all of your support, thanks in advance for preordering a million copies of the paperback, and if you want a signed/inscribed hardcover of GOOD GRIEF that I panic purchased off eBay when I thought the book was going out of print, lmk 😅
then a week later I learned that my absolute champion of an editor at @marinerbooks.bsky.social had been fighting for my book -- to not only keep it in print, but to finally publish it in paperback and GUESS WHAT? Ivy convinced higher ups that a paperback edition was worthwhile. coming out 11/11/25!
PUBLISHING IS WILD. two weeks ago, I posted that @harpercollins.bsky.social was letting GOOD GRIEF go out of print and to stock up on the hardcover while you can. many of you expressed frustration about this and I am grateful for all of your love and enthusiasm and for tracking down copies.
a month ago @apnews.com reporter John Leicester reached out to chat about the recent death of his cat and how to help others who are grieving pets. we had a really nice talk, and the piece was published by AP this morning and has been syndicated *everywhere* thanks, John! apnews.com/article/well...
I was so sorry to hear about Bisbee's death – I remember talking about her with Peter in 2022 when he interviewed me for @wbur.org's Here & Now. I'm honored to be quoted in Peter's tribute, but I always feel bad when my book becomes especially relevant for someone. 🖤🐶🌈

“Hope, like evil, has to be cultivated.” - @theferocity.bsky.social on today’s episode of Vibe Check
A reminder I’ll be meditating on today. If they’re going to keep cultivating evil, we must continue cultivating hope.
Everyone I met who went to a women’s college is always terrifying
Shake hands with a woman who went to Smith or Wellesley or Spelman and they will look into your soul and crush your hand with their handshake
and maybe even try contacting HarperCollins customer service to ask why only the audiobook and ebook are available to purchase on their website and not the hardcover. I'll keep you posted if I learn more, but in the meantime, if you want to stock up on copies, hit up B&N!
unfortunately, sales of #goodgriefpetsbook have gone down in the past year, so my publisher is not interested in keeping the hardcover in print, which sucks. what can we do? it wouldn't hurt to ask your local bookstores to try to order more copies (so HarperCollins sees there is still a demand).
several of you have texted me that you are having a hard time getting copies of GOOD GRIEF these days, and I wanted to give a heads up that the Barnes & Noble website still has copies in stock! #petgrief #petgriefsupport #petdeath #petloss #petlosssupport www.barnesandnoble.com/w/good-grief...
