Arafura Fantail. Very handsome little bird. Mamulaka Wetlands, Kakadu.

Finally! After a meh look at Howard Springs and no sightings at Fogg Dam despite extensive effort, we got this fantastic look at a Rainbow Pitta at Kakadu.

Male (on right) and female Hooded Parrots. Seen in Pine Creek, a tiny crossroads of a town in Australia’s Northern Territory. An endangered species.

After searching all morning, including a hike that was tough for someone with walking and balance problems, we found a lyrebird just next to a paved walkway just near the main lodge. Just four or so feet from me.

Spring garden coming together - all #nativeplants - front to back - bee-balm, yarrow, coreopsis, butterfly milkweed, coral bell, penstemon, viburnum, goldenrod, summer-sweet… Pussytoes and coral bells in the berm. Abundant pollinators!
