I placed a #nativeplant pre-order earlier this week

As some things were already sold out, I didn't want to wait any longer. But I had to decide to reorder plants I thought were dead, before I had the chance to wait and see

Obviously they're now showing signs of life since I've 'replaced' them

A black tray insert, with six cells, is filled with damp soil and lightly topped with tan coloured vermiculite. Some of the cells, which were sown with seeds for tea garden plants on March 22nd, already show signs of germination: three larger sprouts (on the left) are cornflowers, two tiny sprouts in the middle row, toward the bottom of the image, is common yarrow, and toward the bottom on the right are four small feverfew sprouts (tetra white wonder)

My #nativeplant seeds may not amount to much this year but my tea garden seeds are off a decent start

Just did something mildly subversive. Had a dig’n’divide get together. Dug up #nativeplant volunteers from my yard. Other folks brought stuff from theirs. Others just brought containers to take them home. We potted and chatted and labeled and it was so good. Cost? $0. Connection heals us all.

I just did a tour of the yard with my adult son, who’s also #nativeplant -y. We have had a beastly warm windy dry winter, and we have planted so many native shrubs in the past two years. All of them made it. While I am honestly super concerned about water this year, we’re well positioned.

One thing I always forget(honwstly) to tell people about creating a #SoftLanding , I like tonuse a "Victorian trench" when possible, which is +~6" deep and creates a lot of extra "dirt"- but you have uneven spots, or dips, in your yard it makes great fill dirt! #NativePlant beds are coming along

I've been off facebook for a few months and I have to say I really miss my local #NativePlant #Foraging and #Mushroom FB groups. I learned more there from local experts than I have from any other resource. Any suggestions for replacements? It's going to be a bummer to not track morels etc this year.
