This flowering lungwort (pulmonaria) sports a cluster of lavender purple flowers. Seven five-petaled flowers shade to nearly black at their centers. The plant’s broad, white-spotted leaves echo the pale tones of the fallen white birch branch that rests beside the plant. Tiny raindrops bedeck the soft petals and leaves of the lungwort in this early spring photo.
