A little bit of Demon Days by Gorillaz to finish the weekend. Some lo-fi hip-hop and alternative pop. Lovely. #pop #music #album
II by Meat Puppets is a key step from punk to grunge chock full of alternative goodness. You'll know a few from Nirvana but it's bigger than that. #pop #music #album
Kaleidoscope by Kelis still sounds like the future to 17 year old me. She has such a cool presence and the bleak production by the Neptunes is great. I didn't like R&B and this was right up my street. #pop #music #album
Konnichiwa by Skepta is a grime classic. Not a genre I'm an aficionado but I enjoyed this nonetheless. #pop #music #album
Avalon by Roxy Music is fine. Cheesy 80s house parties were sound tracked by stuff like this. #pop #music #album
Another huge pop rock album but plenty of years between them. Band on the Run by Wings has great singles and good writing. #pop #album #music
Only by the Night by Kings of Leon is pretty decent southern inflected rock plus the huge singles. #pop #music #album
Just great tunes.
In a Silent Way by Miles Davis isn't really Jazz or Pop or anything. It's just great music. #pop #album #music
Sulk by the Associates is a poppy post punk record. It's ok, but this is one of my least favourite genres of pop. I think it's that early 80s production that sounds so bleak to me. Songs are well crafted. #pop #music #album
Acros have arrived in the Hull Valley this evening. Both reed and sedge warbler on territory this evening. Also nice to hear a booming bittern. #yorkshirebirding
People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm by A Tribe Called Quest is a masterpiece. Similar in vibe to De La Soul's 6 feet... It's brilliant hip-hop. #pop #music #album
In a year I have lost 11.6kg. I am still a fat man by any metric but I'm nearly two stone lighter than I was, and the 4 stone that I needed to lose (as a minimum) is almost halved. That is pretty rad.
Catch a Fire by Bob Marley and the Wailers is exceptional work and Stir It Up is a brilliant tune. #pop #music #album
Looks great - classic case of the artist seeing flaws that nobody else notices! Good work
Trafalgar by The Bee Gees. A little bit twee at times but high class balladry and pop songs #pop #music #album
Horses by Patti Smith. I'm not sure if I missed something but this seemed like a standard 70s rock record. Decent. #pop #music #album
Don't Come Home A Drinkin'... By Loretta Lynn is a collection of songs about downtrodden women in failing marriages with adultery aplenty. Weirdly fun. #pop #album #music
Tunes that hammer your soul. Queens of the Stone Age's eponymous debut is raw and unequivocal. #pop #album #music
Ha! Amazing
Definitely Maybe by Oasis is fun cheesy rock. Plenty of good tunes. Second album is better but Live Forever is a stone cold classic #pop #music #album
Kings of the Wild Frontier by Adam and the Ants is more interesting than I thought but a bit of a 1 trick pony (tribal drum beats, clashing guitar lines, distinctive vocal delivery). #pop #music #album
Headhunters by Herbie Hancock is a very cool jazz, funk, soul, rock instrumental fusion and I'm here for it #pop #music #album
Had a nice recovery walk at Ulrome this morning. Not loads birdwise but some wandering Canada's were new for the patch year list. #yorkshirebirding
One that means slightly less to me, lol. The Velvet Rope by Janet Jackson. Thought it was meh at the time. Now it just sounds like late 90s pop and soul ripping off other artists #pop #album #music
Spent an enjoyable afternoon painting Captain Titus. Still miles to go but a decent session. #warhammercommunity
