Indeed & agree.
Update: 1pm - got reply, parts not supplied yet & they forgot to call me that the booking they made 6 weeks ago was now cancelled.
Top comms award? Probably not.
So now have day-&-half spare. Time to get back to gaming stuff.

Our wannabe panther Jack did the same about 5.45am. Apparently it's "one of his skills". That & sunbathing.
That sort of Monday when someone is due to be here to do workstuff on the homestead. No actual arrival time was given. So got up early, then ready from 8am onwards, just in case. Getting close to 12noon. No sign, no news, no replies yet. Just 4 hours of waiting. Typically thoroughly tiresome.
More purging of the sci-fi stuff.
#Stargrave - main hardback rulebook & Quarantine 37 supplement: £30 for them together plus P&P from UK.

Scale agnostic, so could easily be done cheaply on 6mm, 10mm, etc.
Question, probably very obvious answer: may I use my Cruel Seas boats & ships with these rules?
Written for 28mm, but it also states you could easily use smaller scales with the minimum of changes.
Follow up to earlier post about #UselessCowards rules. Some more pix to show what you get.
Like what I've read so far. Highlights distinct 'eras' of condottieri warfare not just treating is as 'Italian-Wars-lite'. Production quality good, all in handy slipcase box, great artwork too.

If you can find it somewhere, then 'StrongSword' was fun.

A fantasy solo work-over of 'Ruckus', by Mike Peters?

Or, work up a variant of 'Verrotwood' for a possible fantasy folk horror feel:

Wattle fences & hurdles; heaps of hay & rushes; the midden (heap) of manure; well or spring; fishpond; the pound (for holding stray livestock); shielings....
It all could be decorative, or serve as a sort of terrain bonus in some instance, but it's best use - secret locations for stashed plunder.
2nd thought: Ruckus, by Mike Peters, another busy & active designer who also provides a lot of support to new players.
Blog site here: wilgut.blogspot.com/2024/04/here... - gives you a good insight into the designing intentions.
1st thought: Ecorcheurs! HYW skirmishing, lots of retinue fights & raiding stuff, with 1:1 figure-to-man scale. Great narrative campaign potential. Well supported by it's designer @historianinharness.bsky.social with his website here: www.ecorcheurs.co.uk/about
Delivery of a new set of rules #UselessCowards has prompted a read-up of Caferro's excellent work on Sienna & it's fall.
As for the rules, a great job of production by U&P Games of Finland. Well worth looking up.

Mine came via Zatu, but know others in UK got it via Royal Mail/Parcelfarce. Worth chasing up.
Battle Commander Vol.1 has arrived. Very impressive production, but not yet sure how it plays just yet.
Its also a new exploration for the early Napoleonics for me too.

Trudging around Isle of Bute today & took some pix of some very determined gangly trees growing out of a veritable bog between some ancient stones. Sort of inspiration for fantasy/gothic terrain at some point.

More Sci-Fi stuff to clear away: 28mm Security/Police vehicles x 6.
Mostly GZG models, resin vehicles, never properly finished but useful for some non-military & security scenarios.
UK-based, so offering them up for £25 total which includes P&P/courier to someone also in UK.

Some Sci-Fi stuff to clear away: 28mm heavy armour - IFV-types x 2.
Old Crow models, chunky resin vehicles, bit hard to get them now. These are hefty large-size lumps.
UK-based, so offering them up for £20 total which includes P&P/courier to someone also in UK.

Some Sci-Fi stuff to clear away: 28mm grav-bikes & riders x 4.
Cant remember the make/range, listed them last year on FB but sadly no takers. UK-based & will post free to UK for £15 total.

Excellent work.
How about the sadly rusting abandoned Ogre MkIIIb? 🤔

Oat lattes? Surely that's a very milky porridge? 😁
Irritating homestuff problems: ringmain for downstairs power sockets keeps tripping out. Guess what: boiler is wired into same ringmain. So no heat or hot water. Keeping 🤞the sparx turn up & find & fix it all. And just as we're playing host to a friend visiting this week too.
Possible good news in the future? 🤞

No, not from what I recall playing recently.
Retreats:
* Unit may not retreat onto or thru a hex already containing another unit (regardless if friend or foe).
However, if no other retreat path is available it can move over those occupied hexes but will lose 1 block per such hex doing so.
Hmm, got me thinking now, may have to break it out & come up with some ideas to trial out.
Indeed, only time it really matters in that instance is to affect choices of direction-of-travel for Evades & Retreats.
One possible consideration: a Flanked Unit loses 1D in any Battle Back?
Spent several days doing last of unpacking games stuff from storage. Needless to say Disposal Pile has increased. Will post up some items in due course, but, strange to say deciding to let go of some stuff has been strangely cathartic(?) & pleasing. A better focus on certain projects hopefully? 🤞
