Thanks to @derekcuster.bsky.social for tonight's #BlindDrams selection!
Next time it's @whiskypatrick.bsky.social with his theme Ileach!
Happy 16th Birthday, @thewhiskywire.bsky.social! ππ₯
Really enjoyed all the #Dramfotainment I was lucky enough to be included in π
And hereβs to another #Dramtastic 16 years π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
S5: Another "Jackson Pollock" score of Two for this last dram, from some angles it's innovative and interesting, but it's just too rubbery and drying
#BlindDrams #BTC63
R5: water adds milk chocolate and apple skins to the nose, while the palate gains chilli milk chocolate
#BlindDrams #BTC63
P5: agricultural and fruity; the cow shed from the nose is joined by lots of rubber: pencil-top eraser, inflatable balloons
#BlindDrams #BTC63
5th and final dram in this month's #BlindDrams #BTC63 "Painter's Palate" hosted by Paul and Naomi
E5: Indian Yellow 319
N5: Cider in the cattle shed. There's crushed blackcurrant leaves, fried fatty bacon, pear skins and chocolate limes.
S4: Jackson Pollock score of Two for this one. Messy, but there's something about it that might justify another taste,
#BlindDrams #BTC63
P4: fruity, warming and very drying. There's green strawberries, lemon zest, manuka honey and lolly sticks.
R4: some water adds lemons to the nose, while the palate adds chocolate limes and is much less drying
#BlindDrams #BTC63
4th dram in this month's #BlindDrams #BTC63 "Painter's Palate" hosted by Paul and Naomi
E4: Naples Yellow 422
N4: Agave margarita, it's fruity, sweet and salty. There's lemon drizzle cake, spiced apple sponge with custard, canarian flan, tinned strawberries in syrup
S3: Another Jack Vettriano (first glance could be interesting, but then WTF disappointment) score of One for this dram. While the nose was tolerable, the palate was too mouldy and mushroomy
#BlindDrams #BTC63
R3: some water shifts the mushrooms from the palate to the nose, while the palate gains mushroom lasagne and a bitter lemon finish
#BlindDrams #BTC63
P3: mouldy and fizzy; damp student flat, mushroom compost, chestnut mushrooms
#BlindDrams #BTC63
3rd dram in this month's #BlindDrams #BTC63 "Painter's Palate" hosted by Paul and Naomi
E3: Turner's Yellow 649
N3: Dusty library books, it's musty, dry, papery and fruity. There's dried apricots, tinned lychees, guava and unripe mango.
S2: Only a Jack Vettriano score of one for this dram, it's rather jarring and lacking in taste
#BlindDrams #BTC63
R2: some water adds soap to the nose, with the palate gaining a little fruitiness from tinned fruit salad
#BlindDrams #BTC63
P2: thick, warm, metallic and spicy; the tinned pears from the nose are joined by a metallic note from the can. There's some milk chocolate, but it's still wrapped in foil.
#BlindDrams #BTC63
2nd dram in this month's #BlindDrams #BTC63 "Painter's Palate" hosted by Paul and Naomi
E2: Naples Yellow Deep 425
N2: Sweetened iced tea, it's fruity and herbal. There's tinned pears, pineapple, fresh blackcurrants, loganberries, angelica, coriander leaf and a hint of Blu Tack
S1: A "Jackson Pollock" two for this dram, it's interesting on the nose but a bit messy on the palate
#BlindDrams #BTC63
R1: a drop of water sweetens the nose with maple syrup, while the palate gains chilli milk chocolate
#BlindDrams #BTC63
P1: hot, spicy, salty and slightly sour; apple vinegar, Parma ham, gammon and pineapple, sweet chilli crisps
#BlindDrams #BTC63
N1: Fermented apple juice, it's fruity, sweet and effervescent. There's apple cores, apple peel, pencil shavings, lemon sherbet, coriander seeds
#BlindDrams #BTC63
1st dram in this month's #BlindDrams #BTC63 "Painter's Palate" hosted by Paul and Naomi
E1: Yellow Ochre Light 745
Two hours to go until April's #BlindDrams, with a 5-dram "Painter's Palate" selection from Paul and Naomi.
Enough time for a pre-kick-off sniff to see if I can get any clues....ππ₯
Thanks to Paul @pswhisky.bsky.social for organising a flavour banger of a tasting tonight!
My ranking order was:
1: Solstice
2: Claret
3: Albariza
4: Burgundy
5: Authenticus
#pswhisky
Albariza R: a little water brings mint toffee to the nose, while the palate gains spices (cinnamon, ginger) and a creamier texture
#pswhisky
Albariza P: sweet, rich and fruity; All the Raisins: raisin pancakes with syrup, rum'n raisin ice cream, chocolate raisins. Also, chai latte, burnt pork fat and a hint of sweet smoke (those maple ribs are back again!)
