I do feel like we forget that a mere 100 years ago 20% of children in America just fucking died.

My existence reminds people that anyone can become severely disabled at any time with no warning.
This is scary, and they'd rather not think about that.
So, instead, they remove me from their lives.
This includes close friends and family members.
Since becoming ill, my community has shrunk so much.

I'm chronically ill and almost completely bedbound.
I have so little energy in a day that I can't make simple meals for myself, and walking to the bathroom leaves me out of breath.
I make many people uncomfortable, so they would rather believe that I am faking it than acknowledge my existence.
