It makes me sad because kids these days don't get the same reading experiences that I had. Also most of the school/college libraries I had access to were awful.

So yeah, I am just grateful to have had one brilliant library to go to because we didn't have a lot of money to buy books

#QueerPrompts we had this amazing library growing up. It was huge, stacked with books, and offered so many reading challenges. I'm sure I would go every week. I loved it there! That library doesn't exist anymore, it's now a gym.

Unfortunately the libraries we do have now have very few books

9) There's an injunction against a couple of people and we're supposed to notify the police if we see them. But we don't know what they look like because we never got shown photos of them

7) Flies swarm the windows and we can't have the windows open in summer
8) The fire service like to use the building for training, and most times we don't get told, so we deal with the fire alarm going off and the lifts out of service for it (bonus points if we need to be somewhere that day)

4) Upstairs also don't know how to shut the fuck up
5) Awful weed smell coming in from our neighbour, even though we get warned about drug use regularly
6) The lifts don't work a good portion of the time, which is a great time for us disabled people here

Why we're moving:

1) Upstairs treating their flat like a running track
2) Random fire alarm activations, and we have to wait hours for the lifts to work again
3) Constant construction noise - since 2021 we've had nothing but construction surrounding us or in the building

I know people usually crowdfund for living costs but I don't want to come off as begging, y'know?

We're going to start looking at the end of September, to make sure our finances are in order.

I might plan something, but right now I'm just so tired.

Due to external circumstances, we're having to prepare to move. It's not what I wanted to do, but there are a lot of factors that are impacting our life in this home.

I'm currently unemployed and unable to work most jobs (and because of noise levels I can't WFH either).
