Yesterday I spent the afternoon diving into the world of Sir Edward Watkin with Anna Hartley of Heritage Lincolnshire & the local Watkin Group! Watkin’s impact on our local area is truly fascinating.

Also, honoured to meet Geoff Scargill, Chairman of The Watkin Society who shared his expertise. 🚂

In the early 20th century, the era of railway posters crowded with small, detailed images was coming to an end. For decades, these designs had been popular, cramming multiple vignettes of destinations and attractions into a single frame.

I keep seeing generative AI being used on stuff for kids, like maybe they won’t notice, or it doesn’t matter as much. The opposite is true. Anyone who’s created anything for kids knows you should make more effort for them, not less.

Haha! We’ve all been there! 😂

Then there are those that feel like old friends! 😊

Legend has it Immingham helped build North Killingholme's St Denys Church, but Killingholme didn't hold up their end of the deal to help with the tower of St Andrew's Church, Immingham.
A special grotesque was added to Immingham's tower & still pulls a cheeky moonie to Killingholme to this day…🍑😂

1. My mum & grandma.

2. Not for my mum but my grandma’s wash day was a Monday.

3. My mum had a washer & dryer so washing clothes was easier and less time consuming. My grandma had a twin tub and so she had to have a dedicated washing da.

A clear stream winds through lush, green woodland, flanked by mossy tree trunks and overhanging branches. The kind of precious habitat that could be lost without strong environmental protections.

A clear stream winds through lush, green woodland, flanked by mossy tree trunks and overhanging branches. The kind of precious habitat that could be lost without strong environmental protections.

This afternoon, the Planning Bill enters the House of Lords.

Within it is a proposal that would make it easier to destroy the woods, rivers and wildlife we all love - by weakening the laws that keep them safe.

If Part 3 isn’t changed or scrapped, nature will pay the price. ⚠️

An article about a woman labelled 'an old prostitute named Hill' sent me down a rabbit hole! Publicly shamed and denied a full funeral,
160 years later, she was still remembered only by the title the press gave her.
I needed to know her name!
Found it!

On This Day, 16th April 928, King Athelstan was in Exeter, attesting charters for land in Wiltshire.
These charters were the first to refer to him (or anyone) as rex Anglorum, King of the English, King of England.

I admit to having attempted to create images using AI. I quickly learned that AI was not remotely reliable…

I give you a meeting of the Grimsby Board of Guardians!
