this is the really sad dimension of the show 'alone' people starving and freezing in isolation for chance to win $500k. the poor Americans are like: If I win I can pay my child's medical bills, or my elderly parent can retire etc 😢

we passed this law in toronto and our field naturalists championed it. ppl are feeding animals to get photographs and we speculate if the coyotes are getting too bold with people bc they are being fed to the point they are considering a coyote culling around fort york where theyve become aggressive.

it's not just the developing world. :( i was visiting rural Quebec.. charming white collar young crew having a fire in the backyard.. after they finished drinking their waters they simply disposed of the plastic bottles in the fire... it blew my mind. nevermind redneck burn piles.

what's significant is Ukrainians didn't do xmas on dec 25, but a week later during orthodox xmas. its now changed as they are trying to distance themselves from Russian culture.

I'm in a finishing trade and when I finish a conventional house I feel terrible for the family moving in having to live with all the chemical offgassing. wish we built like this 😭

I got a call yesterday from someone who wanted to unite the construction transition initiatives in the capital, which is cool. But the real construction transition is coming from the countryside.

i put 5' mulch berm in my front yard to keep water in my yard. in 6months it was less than half the height and in a year it was 1' deep. I've added several more feet over the years and have the softest fluffiest soil. trees are loving it.

trees work so hard to make those leaves to drop them to build soil and habitat. trees make the biomass and we clear it away and dump it somewhere else.
