We've been talking about neurodiversity for seven years now and will continue to do so as we campaign for equal access for all 💪
Let's change the narrative to understand and celebrate neurodiversity 👏

Embracing neurodiversity is a journey towards finding new language, new understanding and new acceptance for everyone. This new understanding helps remove the stigma of deficits and disorders.
It's #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek 💛
Neurodiversity is more than just a term - it's a fact, and a movement.
It's the way that everyone's brains naturally work differently from each other - and it doesn't place more or less value on these variations.
One of the problems is the lack of support available in the community. See what a difference proper care can make to people’s lives in our story about Myles and Derek, who spent more than four decades in mental health hospitals before getting a home of their own with NEAS support.
#Autistic
More than 2,000 autistic people and people with learning disabilities are being held in inpatient units in England, despite repeated government pledges to move them into community care.
It is distressing to read today about an autistic woman locked up in a mental health hospital for 45 years - but sadly not surprising.

Work on the £4 million development is expected to start next month and will, hopefully, be completed by the end of 2025.

Today, in our 45th anniversary year, we have launched a capital appeal to help fund the farm development, which will serve as a training centre for autistic and neurodivergent people as well as a visitor attraction and working farm.
Sir Peter made the commitment to NEAS, describing our plans for New Warlands Farm as “inspirational and life-changing”.
Now, the philanthropist is challenging other businesses to match his pledge, urging them to “be part of something very special” and get the appeal up to its target of £1 million.

Just 3 in 10 autistic adults are in paid work.
77% of unemployed autistic people say they want to work
only 30% of autistic people are in employment - compared to 53% of all disabled people and 82% of non-disabled people
Exciting announcement… 🌳
We’re thrilled to announce that leading business figure Sir Peter Vardy has pledged £500,000 to support our dream of turning a County Durham farm into an innovative training centre for autistic people.
