The concept of nation and patriotism was mostly developed in XVIII after the french revolution in order for people to obey the new rulers and order. Hence, is this quote in general terms an oxymoron? (Mark Twain, obviously, tries to bypass it by focusing in loyalty to values and morality)

Any suggestion for a particularly good anti-H3K4me3 antibody for immunostaining in Drosophila? Lately we have been using AB8580 (rabbit) that works well (i need to double check the batch number), but it is a bit dirty (punctuated staining in cytoplasm). Thanks!!!!
“Part of what happens with a lot of this stuff is it's sort of like being too early to the party," says Gustavson. "Because of their [Eastman Kodak's] research labs and innovative nature, they tended to create things that, were ahead of the curve, not behind it." www.bbc.com/future/artic...
Is there any Drosophila species known to naturally specify more than one oocyte per egg chamber? I’ve been looking through the literature but haven’t found any exceptions. Does an oddball species exist, or is the ‘one-oocyte-per-cyst’ rule truly universal across the genus?
C. elegans researchers were early adopters of open science: "The development of common resources and the belief that research findings and mutant strains should be freely shared has propelled worm research to the forefront"

6. Provide references, the more up to date the better.
4. Offer alternative perspectives. How else might this idea be framed, interpreted, or challenged? 5. Prioritize truth over agreement. If I am wrong or my logic is weak, I need to know. Correct me clearly and explain why.
2. Provide counterpoints. What would an intelligent, well-informed skeptic say in response? 3. Test my reasoning. Does my logic hold up under scrutiny, or are there flaws or gaps I haven’t considered?
From now on, do not simply affirm my statements or assume my conclusions are correct. Your goal is to be an intellectual sparring partner, not just an agreeable assistant. Every time I present an idea, do the following: 1. Analyze my assumptions. What am I taking for granted that might not be true?

Quick Drosophila question: I’m planning to integrate a construct on the second chromosome but would like to avoid the attP40 landing site. Any suggestion for a good alternative attP site on chromosome II? It’s for a skeletal-muscle–related project.
Thanks! 🙂

Nautiloids (pictured)—a lineage of ancient, externally shelled cephalopods—once dominated our oceans, but today, these living fossils are threatened and in need of protection from over-exploitation.

“Proposals by *** outgoing *** country”… ?! We need feedback from someone that really knows about this topic :)
Chart from last year... No big change in % of US applicants, or? . marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.ec.europa.eu/news/msca-po...
no - because this would have reduced the % of candidates from the US, right?

is there data supporting your statement for this call? thanks :)
is the US percentage for outgoing country of applicants significantly higher than last year?
