Can't help but to agree completely with Grace Tame's analysis of the situation. I think she has hit the nail right on the head. I stand with Grace.

Penny Wong says the reason the war on Iran is worth supporting is it will
“keep Australians safe”

Supporting an illegal war for regime change with no evidence of a threat will not keep us safe. It will create a new wave of terrorist groups & who hate us like after Iraq. #auspol

Who needs world-changing, life-saving science when you've got rugby league What does it say about us when we let CSIRO whither on the vine?

Australia is one of the richest countries on Earth, if we can afford $600m for a PNG footy team, we can certainly afford to properly fund our premier scientific agency

The numbers don't lie: Australia needs grooming prevention education Child sexual abuse by adults does not happen because of a lack of respect or consent. It happens because adults weaponise their power over children.

The Failure of a Faux PM Scott Morrison has always wanted to be prime minister. Not because he thought he could do the job with any degree of integrity or ability, but because he considered the job a title rather than a respo...

In light of Crikey letting the cat out of the bag - to let us know that Scott Morrison will be receiving the Companion of the Order of Australia..

I thought I’d post an old article I wrote in 2021 on Morrison.

This is exactly why he doesn’t deserve it.

Scott Morrison receives Australia's highest honour for leadership during COVID The 30th prime minister has been appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia for his "eminent service" to the country and direction during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former PM Scott Morrison secretly appointed himself to five ministries, botched vaccine rollout, left Aussies stranded overseas, oversaw Robodebt, and championed AUKUS without transparency.

Now he’s awarded the nation’s highest honour for “eminent service.”

What a disgrace.

When @albomp.bsky.social supported a successful censure motion against Scott Morrison on 30 Nov 2022 he closed his speech saying, “He owes an apology to the Australian people for the undermining of democracy.”

I wonder what the Prime Minister has to say today. #auspol

📢 An inquiry into modern slavery has heard harrowing tales of migrant workers living in overcrowded and "unliveable" accommodation, and of injured workers too afraid of deportation to seek medical care.

This regime kills people queuing for aid, after forcing them to choke points by starvation. We must end the two way arms trade and introduce sanctions. Free Palestine.

Labor's middle-way timidity on Gaza genocide sums up Australia's indifference Labor has tried to walk a fine line on Israel's actions in Gaza. The ramping up of genocide and ethnic cleansing has made that strategy unviable.

Labor's "middle way" timidity on the Palestinian genocide might have worked at the ballot box, but it can't hold in the face of blatant ethnic cleansing, mass starvation and Australia's allies denouncing Israel

New Australian free-to-air TV rules could allow alcohol ads from 10am, even on weekends and school holidays Media authority mulls revised code of practice proposed by Free TV Australia which expands daytime hours when M programming is permitted

We need to be doing more - not less - to protect children & young people from harmful advertising on everything from gambling to alcohol.

Govt & regulators have to put people ahead of vested interests.

Marie Maynard Daly (1921-2003) was an American biochemist. She received her B.A. in chemistry from Queens College in 1942 and, in 1947, became the first African American woman in the United States to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry from Columbia University. Daly's research contributed to the understanding of the chemistry of histones, protein synthesis, creatine uptake by muscle cells, and the relationships between cholesterol and hypertension. Her work in cardiovascular health advanced knowledge on how diet, particularly cholesterol intake, affects heart disease and led to the discovery of cholesterol's role in atherosclerosis. A dedicated mentor and advocate for minority students in science, she received numerous accolades, including the naming of a Queens, New York, elementary school in her honor.

Macron shakes hands along a line of military chiefs

Macron shakes hands along a line of military chiefs

Military chiefs from most NATO and EU countries met in Paris yesterday to discuss new security arrangements. The US wasn’t invited.

It was a closed door meeting and there’s been no announcement of outcome but with both Australia and Japan in attendance we seem to be seeing a new alliance forming.
