He doesn’t need to read the long, damning list below; his eyes already caught a single ‘@Greatest Works’ as they slid off the slate, and he already knows nobody else is looking at the Kremnoan video feeds but him. Well. Him and Mydei, it seems. And if Mydei had stuck to the video feeds It would have been fine, but of course Kremnos would have access logs. And of course Mydei would check them. A nervous laugh bubbles out of his chest, reminding him to breathe. “I missed you?” he says, the charm falling flat even to his own ears. He winces, wilting under Mydei’s glare. He can’t see it, but it’s easy enough to know it’s there.

Mydei’s weight shifts as he kneels beside Phainon rather than on him, bringing his face into Phainon’s peripheral vision. “I missed you too. But I didn’t spy on you in the baths. I didn’t film you naked and transmit it over half the continent—what was it, forty-two times?” Phainon’s face burns scalding-hot. “I didn’t mean to! At least, not at first—” And he really didn’t! When he’d remembered he’d connected his teleslate to Castrum Kremnos’s drones on a previous mission, he’d only meant to check in and make sure Mydei was okay, since they can’t use Aglaea’s network to text while he’s in Castrum Kremnos. But when he’d discovered footage of Mydei pleasuring himself while draped in Phainon’s cloak, he’d been rock-hard within seconds. And, well, one thing had led to another... “Forty-two times.” Mydei sighs. “Phainon. Beloved.” Phainon should be glad to hear that word. It should be reassuring. But right now, nose rubbed in his own shame like a misbehaving puppy, it just sounds sarcastic.
