Tout à fait. Il est temps qu'on arrête de parler de délinquance environnementale, se sont des criminels qui empoisonnent délibérément les gens et l'environnement et profitent d'une justice conçue pour les blanchir systématiquement.

The plants are painted in acrylic using a technique reminiscent of watercolor.
Their scale matches that of real street plants growing in the space between the sidewalk and the wall.
As a result, the painting process takes place sitting directly on the ground, kneeling, or sometimes even lying down… a rather athletic painting experience!

Six months ago I expanded my Incultures project

I asked several AIs to generate images of urban weeds based on their names and botanical descriptions... [See alt]

Incultures is a mural project depicting invasive plants generated by artificial intelligence. The plants appear weird because AI struggles to accurately generate them, revealing the limitations of the technology. This failure mirrors our own selective and incomplete perception of the living world. Painted at the base of the walls—like the weeds that thrive in urban spaces—these plants challenge both our ways of seeing and the growing influence of AI in visual culture.

Six months ago, I resumed my Incultures project to broaden it.
Here are three news plants I painted recently

The result: pseudo-photographic plants that are biologically plausible yet visually far from the originals. I then turned these distortions into painted synthetic portraits.

This painting is inspired by watching aquarium-assembly tutorials. I wanted to play with the image of a transparent plane that becomes, at times, a metaphor for the glass walls we sometimes feel we experience in everyday life, and at other times a reference to the plane of the canvas itself—an interface through which we believe we see, without ever actually crossing it.

The empty, shriveled balloon also raises questions for me as an artist: can art—as a speculative activity and financial bubble—be conceived as degrowth-oriented? From my art history and philosophy courses, one characteristic stands out: art tells its own story as a grand adventure. Renaissance, avant-gardes, the race for originality, radicality, and other intellectual auctions—its narrative seems structured by an ideology of constant surpassing.

Deflation #2

For years I’ve been finding black balloons on the sidewalks—leftovers from nitrous oxide sessions popular among teenagers. This tiny piece of trash says a lot about our era...

This painting is designed to lead toward the flat geometry of urban fixtures meant to deter homeless people from city centers. The aim is to formalize the degree of abstraction of the Other required to produce such abject design, while also questioning the relevance of relying on abstract vocabulary today, at a time when it seems to serve no purpose other than the complicit act of hiding (from) reality.

For the past decade, I’ve often come across black balloons on the sidewalks—remnants of collective nitrous oxide sessions, very popular among French teenagers. What interests me about this piece of litter, a social marker of suburban life, is its ability to sum up a whole cultural moment: an attraction to things that take up space while being intrinsically empty, a taste for the ephemeral and disposable, a joyful-sad relationship to partying, and a certain indifference to what comes after—the time of deflation.

Almost 🙂 ! CEOs ans politics in groundbreaking ceremonies.
I really like your "confusion", I never think about drawing some parallel with goldiggers but obviously it has something to do with it.

This painting shows a T‑shirt hanging from a line tied to the bars of a fence bordered by a hedge. The scene could almost be ordinary — and in a way, it is. Where I live in France, I often came across ropes strung along the fences of administrative or corporate buildings. For a long time, I assumed they were remnants of posters, until the day I realized that, in these areas marked by hardship, they were in fact makeshift clotheslines.
