REVIEW. First published April 1, 2026 (Booklist): Adults who grew up reading Jeff Smith's Bone may find a new fantasy adventure world to dive into with this crowdfunded print edition of cartoonist Cope's popular webcomic. Mischievous and downright volatile Sette Frummagem is a sharp-toothed mutant little girl and the daughter of the powerful Lord of Thieves. She's on a mission to collect a debt from her cousin. Her talented, even-tempered "attack zombie" bodyguard is Duane, who has agreed to escort Sette on her assignment. If the pair can survive monstrous plants, ruffians, Crescian soldiers, and fierce magic duels, they'll still need to survive each other. The character focus here is sharp, giving both Sette and Duane plenty of room to be dynamic as they encounter trials, and the vibrant artwork expresses their personalities and the detailed settings to near perfection. Some readers may find the world building to be too clumped in the final half of the book, but seasoned fantasy readers will likely enjoy it. Though the artwork appears kid-friendly, be advised that this is decidedly better suited for adults or older teens.

Goddammit, y'all indie authors, stop making AI book trailers.
Trailers already don't do as much for your book as you might think. If it's not by you or by a pro, you're better off without.
It hurts your integrity, because readers will then question if you used AI for the writing. Not worth it. 🚫
“Mrs. Wilson my name is Doctor Robinavitch but everyone calls me Doctor Robbie I know this is a difficult decision but we need your verbal consent to transfer your daughter‘s consciousness to this haunted doll.”
HAHAHA Daniel, I'm so glad you've been to make whatever is wrong with your brain into a career 🤣
You just need to do some school visits and storytimes to soften your image

Tiodora’s Letters: An Enslaved Woman’s Fight for Family and Freedom
Adult Books→Fiction →Graphic Novels Tiodora's Letters: An Enslaved Woman's Fight for Family and Freedom. By Marcelo D'Salete. Illus. by the author. Tr. by Andrea Rosenberg. Apr. 2026. 128p. Fantagraphics, $24.99 (9.798875001710). 741.5. REVIEW. First published March 1, 2026 (Booklist). Cartoonist and scholar D'Salete (Run for It: Stories of Slaves Who Fought for Their Freedom, 2017) brings the found letters of Teodora Dias da Cunha, or just Tiodora, to life in this recovered biography in comic form. In comely charcoal-and-white artwork, Tiodora, an enslaved African-born woman in Brazil, longs to reunite her family and return home. Fellow enslaved person Claro transcribes letters for Tiodora so she may communicate with her family as she tries to coordinate buying their freedom, and it falls upon young Benedito to make the treacherous journey across São Paulo to deliver them. Benedito faces more danger the closer he gets to the city, including from a hostile fellow youth, while Tiodora's longing manifests as spiritual visions. Topped off with fascinating and informative essays, samples of Tiodora's actual letters, and many wordless panels filled with action sequences, this truly unique work of graphic nonfiction reveals to English-speaking readers the experiences of Afro-Brazilian enslaved people and belongs in every academic library. - Jack Phoenix

WHAT??? TALES FROM THE CRYPT is coming to @shudder.com next month, streaming for the first time anywhere!!!
What am I, a middle schooler in a blue state classroom?
The funny thing about protecting yourself and family is people will own guns and security systems but can’t even do CPR if their four year old is unresponsive.
Aw come on now, at least we tip, unlike some other church crowds

Living here in Toronto, I have met A LOT of folks from all over the world, and they all agree with this. Other nations have assumed that our military is actually just bloated bluster, and Trump has proven it.
So... trumps war got us to drop the sanctions on Iran, a 2 million per ship fee through the Straight of Hormuz which is now completely owned and operated by Iran, tens of thousands of civilians killed, destroyed oil infrastructure, $5 gas, 18 countries bombed which will cost billions to repair, at least 45 billion in tax dollars spent, hundreds of American military killed or injured, and over 100 billion dollars given back to Iran in returned funds from the sanctions. Someone explain what we won? Besides learning that Trump has alienated our allies to such an extent that none would come to our side and that Trump is still definitely all over the Epstein files.
