This is my poster for Doctor Who: The Gunfighters. It features the First Doctor holding a gun, coloured in blue and red, with little figures behind him, coloured in blue. The background is a light yellow. On the top left, it says "All he wanted was a dentist. He got a shootout instead." On First Doctor's body, it says "William Hartnell, in a episode directed by Rex Tucker", "The Gunfighters - a Doctor Who original", 16mm - Black & White" and "With Peter Purves & Jackie Lane". On the bottom, it says all the other cast members in the episode. My watermark is on the bottom left corner.
NEW ARTWORK!
It's been 60 years since Dr. Who visited Tombstone for a dental emergency and what he got instead was a gunfight. Yeee-haw!! 🤠🐎
My group of artist friends wanted to make posters for The Gunfighters for its anniversary, so I had to join and make one! #DoctorWho #WilliamHartnell

Beginning in eight days, we spend the entire month of May (plus a little bit on either side) celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of Doctor Who the TV movie, and the careers of the writer, director and star who made it
Well worth a listen! 🎧
If anyone wants me to come on their podcast to wax lyrical about Black Orchid, I’m here for it!
Thank you, Tim 💙
It’s been a rough seven days, but we’re hanging in there.
I thoroughly enjoyed that!
Thank you to Tim and Anthony.
Wonderfully directed by Derek Martinus - not only that fabulous Episode 4 set-piece, but gems such as the refracted image of Channing meeting the Brigadier‘s gaze. Pertwee hits the ground running (well, toppling from a ramshackle Tardis prop anyway) & I still love his iconic opening line: “Shoes” 🙂
... then follows it up with an episode with not a single Cyberman in it! And sorry, but Pertwee gurning with some rubber tentacles while Liz changes a fuse does not make for a very satisfying climax. But it was a bold reimagining of the series and an undoubted success so what do I know?
That scene is rightly lauded, and it is superb (no surprise RTD picked it as a basis for relaunching the show in 2005), but immediately afterwards we cut to the Brig on a phone and we never see those Autons again. It's like when 'The Invasion' gives us loads of Cybermen emerging as a cliffhanger...
I might be in a minority here but honestly it just doesn't excite me. It's pedestrian at best, and is a rehash of 'The Invasion' in many ways, even down to a final UNIT v aliens battle in the same factory! I am half convinced it is carried hugely by the iconic window dummies scene.
A brave, bold reimagining. New cast, new look, new feel. Probably the most radical change between stories ever, including anything that NuWho has thrown at us.
Yet it’s totally confident, self-assured and almost never puts a foot wrong.
Arguably, the reason why the show is still with us today

Three Doctor Who Target Novelizations arranged on a wooden table: Alien of London by Joseph Lidster, The Satan Pit by Matt Jones, and The Time of Angels by Jenny T Colgan.
The Doctor brings Rose home a year after she left... to find London in chaos. A spaceship has crashed into the Thames and an alien body lies in the wreckage. The Doctor, Rose and the MP for Flydale North must fight to expose the Slitheen infiltration. The Doctor and Rose travel to Krop Tor - an impossible planet orbiting a black hole, defying the laws of physics. Whispers speak of a malevolent force imprisoned since before time - something that even the Doctor fears. As seismic horrors rise and minds begin to fracture, one terrifying question remains: what if the Devil is real? An improbable call for help from River Song draws the Doctor and Amy to the wreck of the starship Byzantium. The wreck contains a deadly cargo: a Weeping Angel, determined to escape. In uneasy alliance with a squad of military clerics, the Doctor's investigation becomes a battle to survive as an army of implacable, quantum-locked killers grows ever stronger - and flesh becomes stone.
A collection of 16 recently published Target novelizations, featuring the blue & gold diamond logo, arranged on a wooden table.
