Turned off the news and went for a woodland walk with a friend.

We couldn't help envying this sunbathing pheasant's complete unflappability! πŸ˜ŒπŸ•ŠοΈ

Light Keeper Chronicle: The Unspoken Prophecy There’s a gap in Lenzey Wright’s memory. She remembers the sound of screeching tires and then … nothing else. It soon becomes clear that someone is after Lenzey and her friends Ellean, Walter, and Zac...

Personally, D2D only owe me $0.98, so it's not a big issue ATM.

But if it were closer to the new annual charge, I'd be pretty upset.

And then, couldn't what D2D owe you, Vis a Vis what you owe D2D, cancel each other out? Like a statement of checks and balances?

πŸ€”That seems only fair. βš–οΈ

As I've already mentioned, I'm currently sticking with #Draft2Digital because of the ease of use, multiple platforms & the opportunities for discovery & reviews, particularly via promotions, such as on #Smashwords.
However I do think it's fair to have some give as well as take.βš–οΈ

A screenshot of Draft2Digital's payment fees and thresholds for releasing author royalties.

πŸ€” I'd like #Draft2Digital to review minimum payment thresholds. US authors now risk paying a significant $41.99 to D2D before seeing ANY royalties, while for international authors it's $51.99! $20 setup+$12 annually+$19.99 payment threshold.
πŸ’°That's REALLY starting to add up!

πŸŽ‰ Congrats, you did it! πŸŽ‰

Sometimes, when I'm editing, I like to imagine I'm suggesting edits for a writer friend who's asked me to take a look at their draft. I find it just helps to step back a little.

😲 Now hastily crafting a warning to insert in my own upcoming first person novel.

I'm thinking along the lines of:
WARNING ⚠️
To avoid the danger of character impersonation syndrome, keep this book away from readers unable to distinguish fiction from reality.

Draft2Digital's table of minimum payment thresholds for authors publishing with them as at April 2026.

Draft2Digital's table of minimum payment thresholds for authors publishing with them as at April 2026.

πŸ€” Would it soften the impact of #Draft2Digital 's annual fee if minimum payment thresholds were reduced?
I'm only owed $0.98 so it's a big stretch ATM to reach $20 in sales. Still, international #indie authors risk effectively paying up to $31.99 to D2D before seeing royalties.πŸ‘‡
