"Immigration officials confiscated the boy’s stuffed dinosaur toy and winter hat. At Dilley, they were provided with expired and spoiled food, which the child refused to eat."
The boy was 5. This wasn't Liam Conejo Ramos, but another 5-year-old boy from Minnesota.

I don't think I've ever read a sentence as unappealing as "Jim Caviezel is Jair Bolsonaro."
The BBC has found a pattern of spikes in trades on financial markets just hours, or sometimes minutes, before a social media post or media interview by the US president was made public.

NEW: Stories about pardons are often about presidential power. But what about people on the other side of that grace? The Coulson family may never receive millions from a wrongful death lawsuit it won years ago. @jeremykohler.bsky.social
I knew all that work understudying Sarah Brown when I was 15 would pay off someday.
“If I Were a Bell”
While Patel’s camp will wave this off as the coordinated whining of disgruntled FBI holdovers, the sheer volume of people willing to talk makes that defense hollow. It's a lot of effort to coordinate NINE people to lie; takes very little if they're all just describing the chaos they witness daily.
Donald Trump post "The U.S.A. is the “HOTTEST” Country in the World right now. Just a short time ago, under Sleepy Joe Biden, IT WAS DEAD, LAUGHED AT ALL OVER THE WORLD!!! But not anymore - Nobody’s laughing!!! President DJT"
Trump slowly evolving into dril
And so it begins.
I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."
For decades, birthday party clowns folded balloons and played games. John Wayne Gacy is taking a different approach.
The Presidio is a success story — a military base now a self-sustaining national park.
Trump is the Destroyer President. He tears down institutions that make the world better — Medicaid, Kennedy Center, USAID, NIH — & replaces them with nothing since he’s incapable of building. He only destroys.
Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy.
Reporters should ask Trump to describe the pope's job.
Not only are we the baddies now, we're now the dumbest baddies in the history of baddies
Two of the three major credit bureaus have sharply reduced the share of complaints they resolved in customers’ favor.
In 2024, Experian’s relief rate was 20%. Last year, that figure fell to less than 1%.

The next administration must take the lesson of this one; every single immigration judge hired under Trump 2.0 must be fired on day one.
A federal anti-SLAPP law would absolutely slap.
shrouded figure on CBS
CBS News has a bombshell interview with a U.S. soldier who survived the deadly attack in Kuwait on the first day of the way -- he says Pete Hegseth is lying about the attack and that the base "was unprepared to provide any defense for itself." www.cbsnews.com/news/iran-wa...
Millions of American voters wanted to be villains. They came to believe it’s the key to success, while goodness is weak, woke, loser stuff, done only to signal.
Offered the option of unvarnished villainy, they enthusiastically took it. Seeing others suffer more made them feel big.
And here we are.
you know the way "why did the Roman Empire fall" and "what are the causes of the First World War" are big questions that sort of function like Rorsharch tests, allowing people to debate ultimately inexplicable moments in history? "Why did no one stop Trump" a decent future shout for the third.
Trump insane Easter post
Mamdani warm and gracious easter greetings
One of these political leaders has been repeatedly portrayed as an untrustworthy radical hostile to others because of his religious beliefs. You’’ll never guess which one!
Artemis II sent a pic of the beautiful garden planet we are too greedy, lazy, short-sighted, and ungrateful not to destroy:
"Among young American men, the strongest predictor of support for the tradwife lifestyle was not gallantry but hostility towards women"
Apparently this is not what researchers "expected". Which makes one wonder: had these researchers thought about it for 30 seconds?

NYTimes Headline: The Women Who Believe That Women Should Lose the Right to Vote Subhead: Adherents to biblical patriarchy support household voting: One household, one vote--the husband's. They say the idea is catching on.
The New York Times rolling up its sleeves to do the hard work of normalizing the idea that women should not have the right to vote.
I cannot—and I honestly tried—think of an interpretation of ‘taking our country back from the radical left’ (or whatever iteration -objections to wokeness bla bla bla-) that is not ‘coercive government authoritarianism.’ What they mean by ‘radical left’ is ‘thinking and living as one chooses.’
Early 20th c political cartoon depicting suffragettes as dowdy middle-aged women
In all seriousness though, elder millennial jokes aside, I think it’s important to resist the media framing of any mainstream resistance to the status quo as just the shrill nonsense of middle-aged women with nothing better to do. This isn’t the first time they’ve run out this playbook.
