Aha, thank you.

Gotta love Woodbury hillfort π

A small basin depression at Blewburton Iron Age hillfort near Blewbury in Oxfordshire.
Indeed!
Oh, a follow-up question, if I may.
Is the small basin depression you can see in my photo, and in your video at 3:25 (bottom centre), the burial site that you and Neil mentioned for the horse, dog and human remains?

Happy #HillfortsWednesday
Thank you, Hedley!
Did someone say it's #HillfortsWednesday again? π€©
Here's Blewburton #IronAge Hillfort in south Oxfordshire in glorious sunshine this past Sunday.
Also check out this wonderful video by @hedleythorne.bsky.social which inspired my visit:

Had a lovely visit this beautiful morning. Ended up parking in a quiet spot in Aston Turrold and walking in from the opposite direction as you.
Spotted this chap filming himself and blethering away into his camera on Blewburton Hill. I suspect he might be another YouTuber! π±π
Thanks, Hedley!
A lovely video from you two, together with the 'mystery map provider'. π
Nice to see how close you were to Wittenham Clumps which I enjoyed visiting last month.
Boring practical question, Hedley: where did you park for your walk up Blewburton Hillfort?
Hahaha! ππ
I'm not convinced that the 'unnamed male colleague' in the first photo isn't you, Miles. ππ€¨
When did you discover the secret of time travel? π
I forgot to include the Bandcamp link to the instrumental. π«£
Here it is:

Fantastic photo, sir! ππ
Is that you guarding one of the entrances to Barbury Castle, together with a companion? ππ
Not the launch of #ArtemisII. π
It's the release of 'Talking Sense'!
How can an instrumental 'talk sense'? Answers on the back of a spaceship. π½

Thank you. Have fun!
Fingers crossed I can come along again on the open day and see what you've found. π
Woo-hoo!
May your season be full of fun archaeological surprises!
P.S. probably a boring/dumb question, but how do you determine where to dig new trenches?

A guitar instrumental that was channelled from some mysterious realm. πΌπΈπ₯²π
Or perhaps last summer's Hebridean travels to #Islay, #Jura and #Colonsay. π
Wittenham Clumps near Didcot on a glorious morning last Saturday. π
The Iron Age earthworks of Dyke Hills are nearby too.
There's also the lovely St Peter's Church in Little Wittenham and Day's Lock on the Thames. And, upstream, the confluence with the River Thame (sic). π€―

Beautiful π
Do we now need #HillportsWednesday?
Beautiful illustration. π Thanks for sharing it.
Such attention to detail. Zooming in, good to know that dogs wore collars even back then. π€
Wow, it sure is - thanks Alice!
Alice Roberts walking along a hillfort in the latest series of 'Digging for Britain'.
Hello Alice @profaliceroberts.bsky.social π
I'm enjoying the latest series of Digging For Britain, as always!
Please forgive me if you've answered this umpteen times already, but could you possibly tell me where these scenic sequences on a #hillfort were filmed, please?
John would have loved this. I can't be there - prior commitments - but I'm glad it will be busy
Wonderful photos, thank you. π
I was an undergraduate and then postgraduate student at the University of Glasgow in the 1980s, and I'd love to be able to climb to the top of the tower one day.
Is that ever possible, do you know?
'relaxes on a block of marble' ππ
Thank you for those wonderful views of Dunagoil & Little Dunagoil on #Bute π
I was there in May. Great views over to #Arran too.
#HillfortsWednesday
Blimey!
Glad I didn't stop beside the estate as I drove past on the way to Fosbury Camp hillfort earlier this year.
Thanks for the update that you're ok, Paul, and look forward to watching your video. π

Quarley Hill in Hampshire has an Iron Age univallate hillfort.
A rather cloudy Sunday morning last w/e. But on a fine day *would* provide lovely sunny views. π
There's a layby and footpath to the south, but the actual hillfort is on private land.
#RightToRoam anyone?

Why am I detecting Erich von DΓ€niken vibes here? π«£
