Google Summer of Code is a program by Google where students get involved in open source projects. LabLua, the programming language lab at PUC Rio de Janeiro is again participating as a mentoring organisation. They have a project proposal: Integrate the Lua scripting language into OpenRTX.

I just updated trx-control to use the latest version 5.5.0 of the Lua programming language. This gives new possibilities, especially using external strings to avoid unnecessary data copying.

New version of the qth locator app for iOS and Android are out. Enjoy!
trx-control in action: Shows DX cluster spots. Clicking on them will retrieve additional data from HamQTH, tune the transceiver to the spots frequency and display the station on a world map. The cluster, hamqth and transceiver control are all integrated in trx-control. No other libs are involved.
trx-control 1.3.5 adds commands to power on or off a transceiver. Also, with older Yaesu rigs like e.g. the FT-817, both VFOs are now supported.
Prebuilt binary packages are available for a variety of Linux distributions and CPU architectures.

HB9HOX showed me a nice feature of YAML: Anchors, aliases and overrides.
I added this feature to my YAML Lua module and it is available e.g. in trx-control.
