Finished reading Rob Napier's excellent "Voices From A Future Passed" over the weekend (my review is now on Amazon here: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/customer-...) Feeling like another watch of Micro Men might be on the cards...

Perhaps I should pop over to Twitter to re-state my original comment. Just for your, er... amusement. ๐
Exactly. It's not worth the effect it can have on your BP. When a discussion gets too heated and becomes an argument, just push it to one side and move on. I should know - I've made the mistake of NOT doing that often enough, and I have a 'certificate' from the hospital to prove it. ๐ฌ
It's worth doing occasionally to remind yourself why it's just not worth doing more often.
Standing in the garden in the rain, I mean, obviously. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Yeah, but can you prove it? Where's the evidence supporting that claim?
(And if you reply and I then ask the same question again - and again - you know we've definitely read the same threads! ๐)
My first thought was a bit of brokenness between web and app - IIRC the stuff I bought I added to the basket on the web and purchased through the app a little later - but both versions are showing the same stuff.
I've probably triggered a weird glitch. I've done that before with Amazon.
The Matra Alice passed me by, too - understandably, it seems.
As for the book series... that has also passed me by until now. Just added the first one to my Amazon basket. (Not actually purchased yet because I want to work out why my basket contains things I've already bought and received!)
I'd have gone with morbid fascination, but sunk cost fallacy also makes sense.
Both.
Sympathy for having read the threads I did.
Diagnosis to tell me why the hell I kept reading those threads to the end.

I've just spent ages reading the ROOL forums...
But that was just a couple of threads (including some things linkex from them).
And quite frankly, I wish I hadn't looked. ๐
The second video of the talks from #RISC_OS North has now popped up on the WROCC YouTube channel - RISC OS Open Ltd.

Scientists invented a fake disease. AI told people it was real... because of course it did. So-called "AI" lacks any "I".
Well deserved - congratulations!
And to everyone else: if you don't read Jonathan's books, why not? You should.
ShareFSServer service RISC OS on RPCEmu on an Apple Mac M4 Pro
#RISC_OS I keep seeing people posting that ShareFS does not work on RPCEmu when in NAT also on macOS, that is NOT entirely true ๐
Do you no longer have a BBC Micro and wish you could still play the games? You can!

I have succumbed to my first ice lolly of the year.
This is a pet hate for me & I've made the same comment to others about inserting phonetics.
It isn't just since the advent of AI; the problem has been around since long before that - people not listening back to the speech they've synthesised by any means.
However, it is *much* worse now.
Not me - Ruth from WROCC. I just spotted it in my feed.
The first of the #RISC_OS North videos is up - RISC OS Developments/Orpheus

As Mr Fandango says, yeah it's kind of cheating. But also as he points out, it's a testament to the incredible foresight of the engineers that the expansion options can interact with modern technology 40+ years later.

RISC OS Merlin, multi-core VDU driver in testing.
#RISC_OS: antoher tough piece of work for Merlin, an extended and fully multi-core VDU driver. It's working and cores can do VDU requests who are being rendered correctly on the screen.
And yes it's ugly ๐ I need to make a video of the tests, but I have so many things to do that I don't know...
Ubuntu is where I *can* view them; added a plugin ages ago to gimp so I could view (and if necessary) convert them to a more common format. (Still worked last time I needed it).
But I was using Windows at the WAUG meeting - & when I get .heic files from a clent. I'm not installing anything on that.
