People defer to AI moral advice, but not blindly As AI large language models (LLMs) become increasingly embedded in everyday technologies, should we be concerned about their capacity to influence hum…

New paper in Cognition: We know people find LLM (moral) arguments persuasive, but are people being persuaded in an epistemically responsible way?

No. 🧵

Remember that you compute power for the smallest effect size of interest. Not the effect you hope for. The smallest effect that you do not want to miss.

This is in line with the basic idea of conditional error control: *If* there is an effect large enough to matter, we are likely to detect it.

New publication!✨

When are psychiatric patients considered less credible?

When compared to non-patients, particularly by people who do not view epistemic injustice as a serious moral problem.

RegCheck RegCheck is an AI tool to compare preregistrations with papers instantly.

Comparing registrations to published papers is essential to research integrity - and almost no one does it routinely because it's slow, messy, and time-demanding.

RegCheck was built to help make this process easier.

Today, we launch RegCheck V2.

Open-Science-Land In the Planning section, clearly structured landscapes dominate the picture: vast research plains where hypotheses are formed, well-mapped paths of methodology and transparent data sources that need to be carefully developed.

Beautiful business research people: The Leibniz Information Centre for Economics has created an accessible introduction to Open Science that you can download in both English and German here: expedition-open-science.org

You can even order the German print version for free!
