It’s hard. Check your quilt shop for other wovens to sew with. Quilters linen and Essex linen Robert Kaufman I think. Like a good quality broadcloth or chambray feel. The Essex is heavy enough for pants and jackets. That’s about all I can think of.
The Confidence of Ignorance is why my quilt plans often fail to survive contact with reality. #quiltsky
Dimpled blue ginger jar type lamp base.
Will this look like a golf ball if I change the color to off white?
Marking for hand quilting is my least favorite part. #quiltsky
Genius. You win!
Came here to say wawak! So good. Get all my thread and machine needles there. If I save up a big order it’s free shipping.
The Feline Textile Tester at work. I have one too.
That’s funny. They give the line of fabric a name but seeing the fabric out of context sometimes doesn’t
Make sense.
Large dark scarf with graduated hole sizes modeled by white woman with dark hair.
I really want to. I got the pattern. Have yarn in mind. Terrified!
Truth! Spent the summer sewing with my granddaughter who thinks that sewing is just driving the machine. All the rest is busy work she says. Sheesh.
The amethyst earbobs are mine!
Sweetie!
I remember Cloth World and Fabriffic. Yes I’m older too. 🤪 I buy linen and fabric for quilts. Sample swatches are the way to go if you’ve the patience to wait. But honestly towards the end it was just miles of fleece. I just bought machine needles and pins when I needed them.
My Gran would call them earbobs. Miss that. Will keep an eye out on your posts for more!
Can confirm best recipe ever.
Nailed it!
I have reprinted before. 🤪 also I call my test make “my proof of concept “. Sounds so cool!
In a pinch you can sew your sheets together. You’ll want to tape them when you get more but it works!
Pick meeeee!!!!!
FB free for 8 years. Don’t miss it one bit.
Sewing Therapy Tie Dress. Making the toile from an ikea duvet cover. I know the fabric drape will be different when I use my linen for it. I use a lot of found fabrics for my proof of concept and they make great house dresses.
This is a great shirt. I made 4 in a row!
The Sophie Hood from Petite Knits on the go today. It’s 70 and so nice to be outside. Less than 2 weeks ago we had one morning that was 6.
This is stunning!
This is gorgeous! I love quilting with linen.
Where does one obtain a preprinted sashiko panel? Color me intrigued!
Got one too! She’s more of an all purpose textile tester.
Switching it up. If you’ve made this let me know how it went. My proof of concept will be in an old ikea duvet cover. Linen for the real thing.
