This Trans Day of Visibility, and every day, we stand firmly by all trans people, living with or without #HIV.
In a year that has demonstrated increasing hostility and transphobia, it has never been more vital to stand up for everybody's fundamental rights 🏳️⚧️
Andrew shared with us his Christmas Day #HIV diagnosis & the work he does to support people with their HIV journey: https://ow.ly/40BK50YzLYe
"Despite the stigma and loss I’ve experienced, my journey has given me this fire in my belly to fight for others and really be that advocate for them."

We are really sad to see the news that METRO is closing.
METRO have had a huge impact over the past 40 years providing vital HIV and sexual health services.
We're thinking of METRO's staff, volunteers, people who use their services and everyone affected by this closure.

Every discriminatory law that is challenged and changed is a step towards greater equality and ensuring that everyone living with HIV never experiences stigma and discrimination.
Thanks to our supporters, we can continue to advocate for the rights of everyone living with HIV.
We argued this was discriminatory under the Equality Act and is an outdated precaution that hasn’t kept up to date with U=U.
We were pleased to engage with @jennimintomsp.bsky.social, Minister for Public Health and Women’s Health, who recognised that this law needed to change.
📢We’re on the way to successfully changing a discriminatory law in Scotland!
We’ve been making the case to the Scottish Government that current legislation is unlawful as it requires acupuncturists to always wear gloves when a client shares that they have a blood borne virus like #HIV.
Last week we were at #ChivaConference - a day of engaged discussion on how we ensure young people with perinatally acquired #HIV are supported well into adulthood throughout different life transitions.
It was great to hear from the @chivaprojects.bsky.social Youth Committee about their experiences.
A big thank you to @phoenixhealthm.bsky.social for the video production and Gilead for funding this project.
Thanks also to all of our amazing advisory group members and @chivaprojects.bsky.social for their involvement.

🚨Urgent action needed to ensure people living with #HIV in prisons are not left behind.
With @sophiaforum.bsky.social, Ci2 Bureau & @tht.org.uk, we are calling for the HIV Action Plan to be complemented with a set of concrete actions to meet the challenges of HIV care in prisons.
We'll be sharing more about this work and the experiences of the young people we worked with in the next few weeks.
❤️ We are extremely grateful to all the young people who participated and shared their experiences living with HIV – without them, this work would not be possible.
The needs of young people living with HIV must be met 🗣️
🤝In partnership with a fantastic group of young people, we've launched:
• a briefing to build a better future for young people living with #HIV
• a toolkit to support young people to understand their rights
We're supporting UNAIDS Global this #ZeroDiscriminationDay to show the discrimination faced by people living with #HIV.
As the UK’s HIV rights charity, we’ll continue to challenge stigma & discrimination wherever it is. Everyone should be able to live free of prejudice and discrimination.
Criminalising reckless #HIV transmissions:
• doesn't stop new cases
• doesn't fight stigma
• can deter people from getting tested
We will continue to campaign in this area and fight HIV stigma.

This follows the UK-wide report – HIV services at the crossroads – which draws on evidence taken from more than 50 HIV-focused organisations across the UK, and more than 300 people living with HIV.
Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise services are greatly needed and valued in Northern Ireland by people living with HIV - but funding reductions have put these vital services at risk.
🚨Funding challenges put Northern Ireland’s target to end new #HIV transmissions by 2030 at risk & highlight the essential role of voluntary sector services.
That’s the finding of a new joint briefing from HIV Outcomes UK & Positive Life NI, launched in Stormont for #SexualHealthWeekNI2026.
We stood proudly alongside @actuplondon.bsky.social, @bhiva.bsky.social, @chivaprojects.bsky.social, @hiv-i-base.bsky.social, @positivelyuk.bsky.social, @positiveeast.bsky.social, LGSM, UK-CAG and more.
Read our protest demands and understand why lenacapavir is so vital:
Yesterday we protested NHS England to commission lenacapavir, a life-saving #HIV drug that people urgently need now.
We were proud to join everyone who braved the cold to demand this life-saving treatment.
Healthcare delays cost lives. NHS England must commission lenacapavir now.
