I'm hoping to get out in the garden and start some late spring seeds now that it's not dumping inches of rain daily.

Obviously flood/house clean up is priority this month. If I don't get to try spring seeds, I'll be in good shape for the summer crop.

Massively delayed #garden2026 seed starting update due to cleaning up the basement flood. Everything is up except for my pepper seeds that I saved from a plant last year.

I was going to start a flat of flower seeds but I just don't have the time to do that this year.

I'm so sorry, nothing really prepares you for letting them go.

An article from the National Parks Service: Smallpox,
Inoculation, and the Revolutionary War
Boston National Historical Park
During the 1700s, smallpox raged through the American colonies and the Continental Army. Smallpox impacted the Continental Army severely during the Revolutionary War, so much so that George Washington mandated inoculation for all Continental soldiers in 1777. Just fifty-six years earlier, in 1721, Bostonian doctors and clergy introduced the procedure to the American colonies.
Without the vision and determination of these early Bostonians in normalizing inoculation, Washington may not have made the decision to mandate inoculation for the Continental Army. Though it was a controversial action, many historians credit the medical mandate with the colonists' victory in the Revolutionary War and the creation of the United States of America.

Last night on Tomodachi Life:
I made Margaret (Log Lady) from Twin Peaks and gave her a mystical log that she loves showing to everyone.
MiiRio is mad crushing on QueenPiB, and had a momentary crush on Frankie York Morgan that I squashed. Love Triangle is still intact.

Damn, busy few gaming weeks. Tomodachi Life out last week, Vampire Crawlers out tomorrow, and a free update to BallxPit next week.

Mandated fun time (in between work and cleaning out the house from da flood) is going to be lit.

Coachella is trying to wipe all of the footage of The Strokes protest set so I’m gonna post it here. The last images on the screen made me cry.

Dust has settled and the worst of this is over.

The company we were working with has removed their fans and dehumidifier, and our home doesn't sound like a datacenter anymore. All moisture levels and such are at acceptable levels, and there is no need for a flood cut. As a result, apart from the flooring (which, we hated), our finished basement is Safe. Considering I assumed the entire finished portion of the basement was going to have to be gutted, this is obviously a huge relief to our mental well being as well as our bank account.

As with anything like this, we'll mourn the loss of things we cannot replace, replace the things we need, and go "good riddance!" to the things we didn't want. We're also using this as an excuse to do a long overdue spring cleaning of otherwise unaffected areas of Haus PiB.

Our planned project this year was to do flood mitigation due to a defect of the property, and the importance of that is obviously now much clearer than it was before. Once that is done to our satisfaction, we'll look into getting carpet and vinyl flooring put back down.

But we don't need carpet to do a show.

We plan to be live Saturday April 25th and Saturday May 2nd in an amended "Live From The Bar" format, but from our upstairs living room, and we are planning to have the normal QueenPiB show resume Wednesday May 6th. As with any best laid plan it never survives an enemy encounter, so keep an eye on the Discord and other socials if there are any changes.

The rum's starting to hit so I'm going to go vibe for the rest of the evening. Thank you for your patience, and to those of you who also put tips in the jar. We'll spin all those wheels when the show is back at full strength.

The nuttier part is that up until that point, they hadn't even spoken to each other yet. They have since began hanging out and he's still crushing hard but has come down a few notches in intensity lol

Finally had some time to get my Tomodachi Life island up and running. Got myself, Spoon, Potato, and Pibby added in. I then added Francis York Morgan and he is mad crushing on me. Pib and I are not clicking. We got ourselves a love triangle in the beginning stages.

The other thing is to go through my clothes. I'm choosing to find the silver lining that this is a really great opportunity to declutter and if something isn't damaged to give it a second life via donations.

In better news, all my ikea helmers also survived so it will be nice to go through the collection to see what I can let go of.

So today I'm working through the piles of stuff that we needed to get out of the flooded rooms... Which means I'm checking out my nail polish collection...

I have so many old crusty glitters that I don't think I can revive.
