Poetry as correspondence A lyrical flash

"A poem reassembles what is scattered, says John Berger. In bits of image or impression, I look for intimacies. Perhaps a poem is a dispersed organism that seeks unity."

Check out my new substack post; it is shorter, more lyrical than previous one. 🏹 🖤

So much about painting is similar to writing poetry. You start with a few lines and have no idea where they’ll take you. And when you think you’re almost done and you add a detail, the whole piece changes.

I'm sketching to explore ideas for a series of larger works in acrylic and thinking about the connection between imagined and real spaces, and the idea of home. As an immigrant, I’ve spent my adult life thinking of home and what it means to make a home abroad.
