Just for the record, had we - the editorial team who were made redundant - still been working, there is no way a piece of PR lip service like this would be published with such an astonishing lack of critical context.
Its abhorent, but not surprising, given the 'reporter-free' newsroom model.

The time has come for us, as an organisation, to boycott @pinknews.bsky.social.
Despite reservations about the company, we have sometimes worked with queer and trans reporters there to tell stories we thought were important for our community - the same as other outlets.
That ends today. Why?
โจ If PinkNews actually cared about trans visibility they wouldn't have made their only trans journalist redundant โจ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ #pinknews #pinkwashing #youcanthavereporterfreeNEWS
Our thoughts are with the dedicated journalists who continue to fight to tell LGBTQIA+ stories and do the work our community deserves.
I say this from experience. I worked at PinkNews for a long time, first as a freelancer, then as a news reporter, and later as a special reports & features writer. I worked with incredible people who cared passionately about what they were doing, but the companyโs leadership was never on our side.
Thank youuu Emily, means a lot! ๐
A world without writers is like a world without water.

Career update ๐จ
I can confirm I have been made redundant from my role as Senior Reporter at PinkNews.
In my redundancy consultation, I was told the brand is "moving away from having a reporter-led newsroom".
How can they make journalism without journalists? I have no clue either.

Today we launched a survey examining the real-life impacts of the April 2025 Supreme Court judgement.
Why are we doing this survey? I explain below ๐

Just watched a white woman on the tube ask a Bangladeshi man about the vegetables in his bag.๐
๐ฅฌThey then had a wholesome chat about vegetables, with him telling her all about Bangladeshi food and them exchanging recipes.

There's a tendency cover up mistakes in order to maintain the illusion that the teacher knows all. But us being wrong a) reminds students we are human too. b) encourages their own critical thinking and the value of questioning. c) reminds them that we are all always learning. OK cringe post over ๐
Cringe post but: ๐ Ever since I've started teaching one of the most valuable things I've learned is how important it is to own when you make a mistake. When I began teaching the idea of not knowing the answer to a question was my worst nightmare. Now I realise how important it is. (1/2)
Comments like this one on Joanne's most recent Twitter dog-whistle (this time attacking asexual individuals on International Asexuality Day, no less) prove exactly why we need to be educated more about asexuality. Sexual orientation and sexual desire are not the same thing, John.
As someone who was at Sussex Uni during the time of Kathleen Stock, I saw firsthand how horrific her words about trans students were and the extent to which her actions made them feel unsafe and unprotected by the uni. Transphobia is never "free speech" it's discrimination, plain and simple. ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ

Some necessary r&r after #Shax2025 and #RenSA25. Had the best time, it's so exciting to see where research is heading, particularly as we arguably need the arts more now than ever. ๐
Was so great to spend three days with others in STEM (Shakespeare, The Early Modern). #Shax2025 #RenSa2025

Had the best time in the Undead and Zombies seminar for #Shax2025 yesterday. It was exactly as morbid as we all hoped.
I love how X is just a hellscape and Bluesky is just people sharing pictures of their pets. Big fan.
You've made it.
