Hey y'all! This has been a long time coming. Introducing Urbanism+ FYP
This is a personalized feed that I think strikes a great balance of showing your mutual's posts and discovering new content.
The same logic of U+ Live/Trending is used here to give this feed a pool of posts to serve up. 🧵
Thanks to @fema.monster and @politicsofcars.thismachinekillsfascists.bike and the broader Urbanism+ community we now have unique handles! Being a bsky(.)social handle is soooo four hours ago! Join us at any of the following:

#Urbanism+DailyQuote “Our problem was not, and is not, a lack of growth. Our problem is 60 years of unproductive growth -- growth that has buried us in financial liabilities. The American pattern of development does not create real wealth. It creates the illusion of wealth.” — Charles Marohn Photo of Charles Marohn, with his hands up, while giving a talk at an event.

screenshot of a bluesky post that had been hidden behind an “Anti-Cyclist” label. it has a “Show” button on it and a caption that says “Labeled by @labeler.bikesky.social. Learn more”
friendly reminder that Bikesky has a labeler, and it includes an Anti-Cyclist label that you can use if you’d rather not see people being nasty towards bike enjoyers

Sorry for the late reply!
Lots of ways but #urbanism is always a great choice!
This is fantastic!
Anyone here have some resources?
Use any number of urbanism keywords or hashtags. #urbanism is always a safe bet!
On God.
I hate car ownership so much
"... it's worth repeating that car drivers, most of whom have license plates and licenses, cause virtually all the deaths and injuries in New York City."
Uh.
I don't see these scooters going anywhere, and they shouldn't, they're still preferable to cars even during this time, so cities need to invest in solutions now.
Lots of designated parking. You can fit a lot in a single car parking spot.
Yeah, it's a problem, especially for folks with disabilities and mobility restrictions. I hate it.
These scooters are great though and many who can't ride a bike do to certain disabilities can ride an escooter, so they're a win for people with disabilities too.
🔥 Hell yeah!
i may just join the War on Cars instead
"IIHS findings show that vehicles with hood heights over 40 inches are approximately 45% more likely to cause pedestrian fatalities."

I wrote a longform post on some of my thoughts, pictures, videos and experiences with Chinese urbanism. But Noah Smith consistently misses the mark on what living in urban China is actually like as well as the strengths and weaknesses of Chinese cities. Link in next post.
