The usual excuse is that they want you to have your own car so you're not depending on public transit, which they view as unreliable (thus meaning more tardies/absenteeism). I get it all the time for non-driving jobs, altho I'm in a better position because I do have a car. But still no hire offers.

I avoid it because it’s so often misused. Usually I can recast a sentence or sentences for the same meaning without it.
Some books should exist because of their content. Some shouldn’t, but not because of their content choices— they shouldn’t exist simply because they’re badly written.
Hey, #Brisbane! Stay safe in the storm. Good luck! (I’m near Ipswich and riding it out at home. Got done prepping today.) Nothing to do now but wait. #cyclonealfred #cyclone #hurricane
Drafting. I absolutely hate it.
Whelp, taxes done, but my return was rejected, and support isn't open for another five hours. Very frustrating to wait, because my refund this year is ... quite large.
Another podcast episode in the can. That gets us through the beginning of March. I prefer to have lots of episodes in the can and scheduled, because I do evergreen content, so I can take a week off or something if I need to. I don't have near as many episodes ready right now as I'd like to, though.
Reminds me of the cookies that got left baking for 300 pages.
yeah, just like we held him responsible for every crime he committed last time.

more likely that actuarial tables will catch up with him, and we'll have to be satisfied with hoping that white rethuglikkkunt jesus sent him to hell.
AJR was right: "I kind of feel like two things can be sad."

Okay, a plug for my show: Revision Wizards is dropping episode 53 in about 45 minutes. This one celebrates two years worth of episodes. (We publish bi-weekly and took a couple breaks, but if we hadn't, it would be two years.) Who knows what the next two years will bring? I sure as shit don't.
The gods know I can use one. "This is the employment jelly. Reblog whenever the hell you like and you'll get a job that you love and deserve."
bluesky threads?
i'll be 51 in a few days. who knew we'd ever make it to this old?
#writingcommunity are you still here? I feel like I’m not seeing any of my friends on here anymore. Is everyone ok?
I'm here, but I'm physically sick and out of spoons for all the rest. Yeah.
or my take on it: "who wrote this shit?"
does this mean i won't have to pay my student loans? hahahahaha. there's no way he'd let that happen.
For me its their legs. I squick out over things with fewer than two or more than four legs; things that fly without feathers (bats are cute but I still shiver); things that sting. Flying insects are especially awful because no feathers and six legs. New Orleans has COCKROACHES THAT FLY. Never again.
The most useful class at any level of school I've ever taken, bar none, was Typing 1A with Mrs. Jean Welch my first semester of high school. She taught me to touch type on one of these. And it was then almost as ancient as I am now ... and I fart dust now.
I was once told that English is the easiest language in the world to speak badly and still be understood.

Arriving at the first destination, a nondescript white row house with a white picket fence and small front porch, he got out of the car and headed toward the door with his nav and signature pad, and the customer’s envelope of who-knew-what.
A cork board with condoms pinned to it with thumb tacks.
