I wish more of these stories got out! I was a few times partially funded by USAID and CDC and I think the on the ground stories aren’t being shared enough.
I had two amazing, exciting job opportunities: 1) digital health systems management across Africa and 2) working with injectable HIV PrEP. Both gone because of USAID and CDC funding gone. 1% US budget. I felt I was contributing to global health; now I’m just trying to pay rent.
