A horned Grebe swimming to the left on a blue lake between dives. The bird is lit to the left by the late afternoon sun. It has a black bill tipped with white and red eyes surrounded by golden tufts. The rest of the head and back are black with chestnut brown on the neck and sides. Water droplets have beaded and collected on its feathers.

A horned Grebe that I kept sneaking closer to between dives and that had eventually become accustomed to my presence.
