It should be amazing to watch!
Good chance the muscle car parked outside my house was stolen and dumped. I could report it, but since it's not the kind of vehicle that should be driven within earshot of society, I'ma let this fucker sit in timeout.
Technical diagrams from the CCU paper highlighting construction and droplet travel
You heard: space toilet broken.
I heard: successful test of the Collapsible Contingency Urinal

at least it's just an amber fault light and not a brown one... yet
KCPD also the sole reason it didn't run for the championship parades. Cops ruin everything.
@beertheist.bsky.social when are we all moving there?
I will never ever understand the people who race-walk through the terminal only to freeze like a statue when they touch an escalator. Where did your hustle go, friend? They're speedy stairs, not a teleporter
Any group rides in Chicago this week or is it too cold? #bikechi
wx sirens in midtown now for... what?
Image from kc1940 tax assessment 11-300-8, a house built over a business signed "Brown Bobby Do-Nuts"
The same house captured by Street View in 2022 but five blocks north. The Do-Nuts are nowhere in sight.
Here you go, neighbors research indicates parcel 8 moved from 40th Way & Main to 3631 Wyandotte in the 80s. kc1940.org/district-no-...
There's a house on our block we believe was moved here, it definitely doesn't match the rest of the stock.
Starting the new Star Trek game with my Voyager super-fan kids: "haha fuck yeah! yes!!"
Me not getting to play today because they have homework and piano lessons: "well this fucking sucks. what the fuck."
but sure let's regulate ebikes
on the left: two way vehicular traffic. on the right: a two way cycle track. in between: a poured concrete curb topped with a "bollard" which is actually hollow plastic and has been toppled over revealing the scrawny bolt straining to keep it from blowing away in the breeze
Flexpost cosplaying as bollard. Safety is an illusion.
On the left: a car lane ~closed to traffic~ since before the snow storm has been cleared to pavement before the well-traffiked multi-use ped/bike path on the right, which is crusted in ice
Fuck you, MODOT.
Yesterday, I drove refugees that had been shipped off to Texas all the way back home to St. Paul
Seeing them reunite with their families reminded me this is their home.
So keep sending them to Texas. Iโll keep driving โem back and introducing them to Bucc-eeโs and KC barbecue along the way.
Electric cargo bike loaded with a big bag of cat food and other groceries parked in front of a Costco
Yes! Why use a 5000lb vehicle to pick up 40lbs of groceries when a 100lb vehicle will do?
Not surprised. GLL lost me when they plowed all their snow into the bike lane, along with scooters.

Rummaging through basement storage. A stack of 5.25" floppy discs in sleeves. The one on top is labeled "The World's Finest Software Disk #452 Solar Winds (1 of 2) Insert disk in drive and type WOW to start". Further back in the stack is another disc labeled "Stare-EO Workshop V1.21" because I was ๐ฏ making my own stereograms in middle school
found it! there's no way these still work, right?
Solar Winds! definitely a disk I bought in the supermarket. haven't thought of that in ages but could instantly picture the shield schematic ๐ฅฒ
Tired: flat streets
Wired: Speed humps, tables, etc
Inspired: Speed *dips*, because modern clearance and suspension makes taking speed bumps at speed no big deal, but dips still make drivers worry they'll damage their car, and that has the highest level of encouraging compliance
what seems to be a hookah hose (?) lies in the sidewalk at an intersection
Somebody is one pipe shy of a hookah
Cranberry sauce with a candle in it.
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.
Might rewatch Bubba Ho-Tep (2002) tonight. No particular reason.
I think I have a referral code if it helps!
I started using Sleepbuds (was Bose now Ozlo) almost 3 years ago once the trusty Dohm fan was no longer a match for my partner's snoring. The cost is not trivial but they've probably saved our marriage!
