It was the first Bruce album I listened to - I knew every word. I was far too young to understand what it all meant.

Iโ€™ve been working on the next Special Collections Sunday display. The theme is Animals in old books - and this is by far my favourite animal in a book.
Come meet this guy Sunday 2 March anytime between 2-4pm at Bristol Central Library

How well do you know Bristol? Can you help identify these streets? ๐Ÿ“ท
At Bristol Libraries we are sorting through hundreds of old slides from the Local Studies Collection. They are a great snapshot of the city in 60s, 70s and 80s but many are not labelled!

Thank you David. The flag is my fav theory too. Iโ€™ll take a closer look at any other images we have - see if we can glean further info. There is also a debate about the name of
the street - but thatโ€™s for another day ๐Ÿ˜‰

One possibility is from the constellation Cetus, made up of 14 stars. Or perhaps it was a nod to the new country across the Atlantic, America, and the 14 stars on its flag. Or maybe it was just bigger than the Seven Stars around the corner in Thomas Lane?

Engraving of an old building. Fourteen Stars pub.

Engraving of an old building. Fourteen Stars pub.

Whatโ€™s in a name? Tomorrowโ€™s Special Collections Sunday at Bristol Central Library is all about old pubs of Bristol. If you are in town pop in between 2-4pm. One of the pubs highlighted is the Fourteen Stars (demolished 1857) - but we arenโ€™t sure how the pub got its name. Can anyone help? โ€ฆ

A very humorous scene made of Lego. Featuring Bert (standing with arms raised up) and Ernie being blown away into a tree as he holds a balloon. There is also a dog in the tree - must have been blown there!

Ok Bert, thatโ€™s enough, cut it out!
