Very retro with nicotine stained walls and ceiling and guys playing board games and bar billiards. Good selection of old pictures and prints on the walls and various team photos in the games room. Big beer garden at the back. I drank Adnams Golden Gull at £6.50ish. 2/2 #Bristolpubs #realale
...is the huge terrace overlooking the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Leigh Woods. There are also small summer bars outside labelled as ‘Gin O’Clock’. Very pricey but worth it for the view! I drank Independence IPA at £7.20. 2/2 #Bristolpubs #realale
Lots of families in booths, friendly staff, wood floors and fairy lights, and apparently a great place to see the sunset (although not when I was there!). I drank Butcombe Original at £5.55 and also sampled the Adam Henson’s Rare Breed. 2/2 #Bristolpubs #realale
Very relaxed with low volume music and lots of chat. There is also pavement drinking at the front. I drank Hop Union Bonville Pale at £5.75 2/2 #Bristolpubs #realale
I drank New Bristol Brewery My Secret Romance at £5.55. 3/3 #Bristolpubs #realale
Also has a partly-covered rear yard and tables on the pavement. Good relaxed vibe and a pint of shandy for £3 if that’s what you fancy! I drank J.W. Lees Bitter at 5.10. 2/2 #Bristolpubs #realale
One possibility is from the constellation Cetus, made up of 14 stars. Or perhaps it was a nod to the new country across the Atlantic, America, and the 14 stars on its flag. Or maybe it was just bigger than the Seven Stars around the corner in Thomas Lane?
