The race to save historic Altadena fireplace tiles — because they're all that’s left A day with the Save the Tiles volunteers as they work against time to preserve over 200 fireplaces in Altadena.

When thousands of homes were reduced to ash by the Eaton Fire, one of the few things left behind were the chimneys — and the historic kiln-fired tiles that adorned them.

A group called Save The Tiles is working to painstakingly map and preserve them.

Hi folks! I am a MSc student at Simon Fraser U in British Columbia studying cumulative effects of renewable energy and impacts on restoration efforts. I did a BA: English and BSc: Marine and Freshwater Bio at UGuelph where I worked on zoonotic disease, DNA qPCR, food web ecology, gill morphology.

Some highlights from the #PECS3 conference I attended last month in Montreal! It was great meeting the other members of #NSERC #ResNET and so many other social-ecological researchers from around the world!

Stoked to have been part of the LEMR Lab at UofGuelph as an undergrad, and excited to announce our paper published in AJP.
