I have one of those and I love it. It's written very clearly!

UGent researcher here. It is real :/
Happy that I was able to attend two of them!
Interesting! I would randomize... Chances are that only one arm will be available during an emergency?
I have an easy side and a difficult side for drawing blood. I used to always offer the good side. However, my boyfriend (a nurse) suggested to always first offer the difficult side, so the easy one can be "in good shape for emergencies". 🤔
Palestinian children have been killed at a rate of more than one child per hour during Israel's war in Gaza.
“A whole classroom of children killed every day for nearly two years,” UNICEF’s executive director said.

Are you a journalist writing about a current heatwave?
The images you choose are critical to the story.

🎊 Springer Nature Discovers MDPI 🎊
Springer Nature has spawned a copycat journal series called "Discover" mimicking #MDPI journal titles and citation behaviours. We even made a browser game to prove it (see 🔗).

"having a ‘month of the tooth’ can help to avoid people feeling offended, because you suspect that everyone will be addressed about it."
Non-dental professionals reported barriers for addressing oral problems, including lack of time and knowledge, and considering oral health as a taboo subject
“And is water sufficient for the first teeth? She will drink water before sleeping, is it sufficient or not?”
Several parents were unsure when to start brushing, which toothbrush to use, or had concerns about the safety of swallowing toothpaste and using fluoride toothpaste
"we sing, dance, move… and when she says ‘no no’, I call papa.”
Nearly all parents reported difficulties in toothbrushing due to the uncooperative behavior of their child. Strategies were making it fun, not tolerating resistance, bribing and threatening, or shifting responsibility to the child
“It’s quite a job to get those three dressed and ready in the morning and then sometimes I realize ‘I’m late already’. At that moment you skip toothbrushing. You’re not going to send them to school without a coat or without shoes."
Parents knew about the norm, but are often forced to prioritize
We conducted a qualitative study on oral health care for young children in Belgium and really put effort into reaching parents from minority groups. A short overview of our findings (using quotes from the focus groups and interviews 😊):
It was an absolute honor to chair EuroCIM2025! Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen - especially Oliver Dukes and @svansteelandt.bsky.social for their incredible support. A big thanks also to all the participants, without whom this conference wouldn’t be possible.
I considered adding "to be continued", but that was a bit much 😅
It’s a wrap! My #euroCIM2025 take-away message is
1. People are working on causal inference topics that go waaaay over my head
2. Many applied researchers are still unaware of the heroic assumptions they make
3. Both groups need to make efforts to close this gap
Really looking forward to it!
It is #EuroCIM2025 ! Looking forward to see you all there!
